I like Barber and McK, but as a compliment to Gibson, not necessarily as a replacement in case of injury. It's a tough haul to carry 4 backs on an active roster too.
Barber did well at what he was asked to do last year, but I'm greedy - I'd like somebody on the roster who can contribute more than ...

Re: Love Waived By WFT
I'd like to see another RB added to avoid overworking Gibson. Not sure that any of the other backs on the roster are what we need.

Well, I'd just like to say that I haven't missed any of you at all, but I'll probably pass by the site from time to time to offer the occasional word of wisdom to improve your lives as best I can. I know you've probably all been lost without me.

Re: FBGP's 2015 Inside the War Room: Redskins
With his size, I suspect he'd be a better fit as a 4-3 linebacker. He's intriguing, but nowhere close to being a top 5 pick (prepares to receive egg on face).

I wouldn't mind drafting him in round 2, if we trade down and gain another pick from somebody. Where would you play him? He's very light for a 3-4 ILB...

Re: Defending the latest Griffin interview.
I was going to get seriously involved in this thread but, after further thought, I've decided that I just don't care what RG3 says or thinks, or what anybody else says or thinks about what he says or thinks. Fair play to him for lowering his media profile in recent months, but spouting a few ...

Re: Your draft board at #5
Oh, ok then, I'll add my opinion. My personal Redskins board would be:
1) Williams
2) Fowler
3) Beasley
4) Cooper
After a trade down, I'd be happy with Scherff or Ereck Flowers.

Re: FBGP's 2015 Inside the War Room: Redskins
Thompson is an interesting talent, but is one of those players that doesn't seem to have a natural position in the NFL. I'd expect him to be a good player for somebody, but not good enough to justify a top 20 selection in my opinion, certainly not top 5. I still like the trade down approach - don't ...

Re: POLL: Who would you like the team to PICK at #5
If Williams somehow, miraculously, drops to number 5, then the Redskins will have a dream scenario. Either pick the best player in this year's draft, or watch the trade offers come rolling in. I would be happy with whatever choice they made in that situation. We'd either end up with one of the very ...

Re: POLL: Who would you like the team to PICK at #5
The closer we get to the draft, the more convinced I become that McCloughan's preferred option is to trade out of the top of the draft. With a mid 1st round pick, two seconds and a third, he could still pick up an elite pass rusher, rebuild the offensive line and pick up a decent prospect at free ...

my repeat post for another thread:
You can SCRATCH Randy Gregory OUT...!!! We ain't touching that pot smoker....!!! He'll drop to the mid or end of round 1.
And if he DID drop to the middle of the 1st round, and to a spot that we'd traded down to, should we pick him then? A risk at #5, but an ...

Another athletic beast who has seen more publicity since the combine is Alvin Dupree. I'd be happy with him, if we traded out of the 5th pick.

Re: POLL: Who would you like the team to PICK at #5
If we do use the #5 pick, it will certainly be the most exciting part of the draft, on a superficial level. But the most important part of the draft actually starts after the first round is over. The team needs depth and quality EVERYWHERE, and it is in these later rounds where that depth can be ...

Re: POLL: Who would you like the team to PICK at #5
This is a strong draft for edge rushers, and I really want to see an athletic animal playing opposite Ryan Kerrigan. The days of Manley and Mann are so long ago, I fear that half the members on this board have only seen them in grainy You Tube videos. So, I want to see a fast, athletic, playmaking ...

Re: Ricky Jean-Francois
Decent signing. A relatively cheap and healthy 28 year old comes in, while two badly banged up over 30s are released. I don't think this has any impact on draft strategy though - we could still draft two defensive linemen in the first three rounds this year, and it wouldn't be overkill.

Re: Next to sign will be: Mike Iupati...?
I'm sure a lot of teams will be interested in Iupati - the price could get very high, very quickly. The question is whether McCloughan will think it worthwhile to invest a significant pile of cash in a 28 year old guard at this stage of the team's development.

He HAS been hired, and it is (potentially) a huge step in the right direction. I am incredulous - the organisation is doing some things that I never imagined would be done with these two in charge. Nothing guarantees success, but this move is a very big step in the right direction. Hopefully

It appears that Tom Gamble is no longer good enough for the Eagles. He's several thousand times better than anybody we have in DC.
That's how far behind the rest of the NFL we are. Even Jerry Jones is a better GM than Bruce Allen.
And Joe Gibbs is NOT the answer.
