Report: Redskins interested in OG Mike Iupati
NBC Washington's Dianna Marie Russini reports the Redskins have "strong interest" in free agent OG Mike Iupati.
Redskins coach Jay Gruden has been transitioning away from smaller, athletic zone linemen to large power blockers for the last year and a half. Iupati is a 6-foot-5, 330-pound road grader whom new Redskins GM Scot McCloughan drafted in San Francisco. Iupati would be a natural fit in D.C. Per Russini, the Redskins can expect competition for Iupati's services from the Buccaneers.

I wonder how much he would cost? We might have an edge since Scot M. drafted him.

I'm sure a lot of teams will be interested in Iupati - the price could get very high, very quickly. The question is whether McCloughan will think it worthwhile to invest a significant pile of cash in a 28 year old guard at this stage of the team's development.

agree - I doubt that we 'overpay' for free agents - especially if it's not Snyder's decision - Scot & Jay will make better fiscal decisions
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
