I disagree that having Mike Shanahan was a big mistake - I do agree that he did not do well as HC but I now believe that despite his assurances, Dan Snyder's meddling created an atmosphere here that made it difficult for any HC to do well
The reason that it was not a mistake IMO to bring in Mike ...

Re: I Was Wrong About Cousins
I still maintain that Robert Griffin III is also a bust. Griffin peaked in 2012. And, while it would be awesome if he proved me wrong... he won't.
I don't know why people insist on writing this crap. Why not just end with "It would be awesome if he proved me wrong..."? If this is your opinion ...

Re: Screw the QB discussion, Skins D is Atrocious
The skins D as currently constructed and coached would not be a top 5 defense in the SEC, much less the NFL. Not too many winnable games left on the schedule.
QFT. It's sad to see guys like Cousins, DJax, Trent Williams, and Garcon perform admirably all for nothing because this defense can't ...

Seriously anyone would be an upgrade over Haslett. This guy has no track record, he's basically piggybacked on Dick LeBeau's career when he briefly was Steelers defensive coordinator after LeBeau left. He had one good defense, and then the Steelers started sucking it. He just is bad, I have no idea ...

It's not looking good for Amerson and Breeland, but the talent seems to be there. Hopefully we have the kind of staff that can develop these guys into quality corners.

Re: Is it time to start looking for a QB in the next draft?
We need a better offensive line, I hope we draft a right tackle in next years draft. QB is the least of our concerns, we already have two QBs who seem like they could develop in to elite QBs (keyword being could). I don't think anyones watching the Seahawks game last week and thinking "Man, if the ...

Re: Start Cousins & Try To Make Playoffs
Cousins and Djax were definitely our best players last night. The real deficiency seemed to be the offensive line. Why we cut Monty is beyond me, Lauvao is just awful and Polumbus is regressing hard from a great year last year. That Seahawks D is legit and Cousins performed solidly. I still like RG3 ...

Re: Anyone left on Earth that doesn't think Haz should be fi
I'm not gonna blame Haz since the defensive talent on this team is so awful in the secondary, but this guy has barely ever had a good defense. Shanahan seemed to hire him just because he loved the 3-4 defense and needed someone to install it. The fact that we let go of Kyle and kept Haslett is ...

Re: Screw the QB discussion, Skins D is Atrocious
How in god's name we went into the season with this secondary and these inside linebackers and thought we would be fine is beyond me. We have one of the least talented back 6's in the league, and this Hall injury has made it even worse.

Re: Will we be embarrassed next Monday night...?
We actually matchup quite well with the Seahawks, because our run defense seems good but our pass D is atrocious, and the Seahawks run the ball much better than they pass it. I also think Cousins did so well in the Eagles game he got way overconfident and thought he could throw anything in any ...

Our Dline seems quite good, but the secondary may be one of the worst in the league. I can't believe we didn't do more to shore it up in the offseason, it may cost us the playoffs.

Re: Philly Game Thoughts
The scariest thing about Philly is Sproles and McCoy. Foles and the WR core has looked quite bad this year, but wow are those RBs athletic. If we have a good game plan and focus on containing McCoy and Sproles I think we can do well, but we can't miss tackles.

Re: Robert Griffin III and the Sunk Cost Fallacy
I mean, they're right, we shouldn't play RG3 just because he was the number 2 pick, but people need to seriously stop overreacting to Cousins. Cousins could become a great quarterback, but he is really hit or miss. He's been really bad for us at times, lets not just remember the good times, as good ...

Shanahan picked wildly for players who could create turnovers on defense and he really missed with Rambo. That being said he was a 6th round pick and should have never started a game for us.

Re: Redskins - Jaguars postgame thread
This is going to be overlooked in all the RG3/Cousins talk but.... How freaking good was David Amerson. The dude was everywhere in coverage, blanketing WRs, and almost had himself a pick that could have easily gone for 6. I was extremely skeptical after an awful year last year but here's to hoping ...

For me its not even a choice, I couldn't switch teams if I tried. I put on a ring on this team as soon as I was old enough to like football and no matter how bad it gets I still love them.

I agree with you and have thought about it a little bit today. I hate to hear we have a "qb controversy", when there really isn't one.
There definitely is one among our fanbase. It's divided.
Then our fanbase is stupid.

I think the its too soon to judge. He's definitely the least flashy coach we've had in awhile which as a Redskins fan is hard to adjust to . He's not a strategic innovator like the Shanahan's were but he seems to be a guy with good relationships with his players and does a lot of the little things ...

I'm extremely worried about RG3 against the Texans pass rush. Their D-line is scary and RG3 has looked really bad at times against a good pass rush. Watt probably will swat a few balls down too.

Really disappointed that we cut Rob Jackson. He seemed like an upgrade over Orakpo at points during RG3's rookie year.
