Top 20 NFL Coaches Ever Ballot

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Hmmmmmm...One would think that having the Super Bowl trophy named after one certain individual that people may want to give a bit more respect to arguabley THE greatest coach that has ever coached in the NFL.

Then, clearly, 23% of all fans who voted...
1: Were not qualified
2: Really should put down the crack pipe, and,
3: Are probably sporting a really nifty Dallas Cowboys fan finger while serving coffee at White Castle.

 that's a shame - or an indictment ...

I may have only been in the USA for just over 40 years - even I know that Vince Lombardi is CERTAINLY one of the top 20 NFL coaches ...

I guess it shows how IGNORANT many NFL fans are - My 2 cents
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I always thought Jim Mora was entertaining, but looking at his numbers, I have to wonder why he's even on this list. I guess coaching the Saints to their first ever winning season is accomplishment enough. Seriously though, it looks like 100 wins or a championship gets you on the list.

As for 23% not voting for Lombardi, they probably only voted for 1 coach.

Other notable stats:

George Allen: #4 regular season winning percentage.

Vince Lombardi: #3 regular season winning percentage, #1 post season winning percentage, #3 championships

Joe Gibbs: #3 post season winning percentage among coaches with more than 10 post season games. #1 post season winning percentage among coaches with more than 20 post season games.

Bill Parcells: Numbers are totally underwhelming. (.500's in both regular and post seasons)

Andy Reid: Same.

John Madden: Should be much higher on the list.

Weeb Ewbank: 1 game over .500  3 championships, though.

Weeb is in my top 20. Just making sure that you know the list I posted is the top 50 alphabetical. Madden probably made the top 10 for ESPN I guess we'll find out.

Age of voters. How many voters remember Lombardi, Halas, Paul Brown? Curly Lambeau?

Weeb: Colts and the Jets: from nothing to champs.

I bumped this to ask did JG make the top 20? I never could sit down to the entire two segments on ESPEON so I don't know for sure (although I have my doubts...)

Thanks in advance for the 411.

By voting list do you mean the top 20 list? I didn't know they had revealed Madden's position as of May 25. All you said was "the list" and it was only natural to think you were looking at the list I posted.

 back at ya.

BTW - like welch said, Ewbank built two crappy teams from the ground up. Paul Brown hated losing him.

Also, someone asked where Gibbs came in. He came in 9th.
