For those of you who don't speak British, the American equivalent of that is: "I LUV 98 Degrees"

Did you know that Jeff's favourite album is by Boyz II Men? Now, they were really great.![]()
Actually, I'd never heard of them, but one look at the website (I blame you for that), and I can tell exactly what they sound like.

Hey UK Skins Fan, are these guys real popular over there?

Yes, they are popular, for sure. Don't get much of a look in on a lot of radio stations, but very few bands with guitars do. Some think that it's a contest between them and Muse for the role of "next big thing" from these shores.

Jokes aside, perhaps I should check them out, as I also happen to like Muse.

You're supposed to be naming bands that you wouldn't tell your friends that you like.
That's a really frightening thought. Gangs of hooligans wearing flared hipsters, chest wigs and knuckle dusters.some real aggressive people who think disco died unfairly

When you're in the business I'm in (highway construction-recently, supervison) and you're surrounded by iPods blasting the latest guy to take a bullet in the butt and call himself "streetsmart" and others who range from mid-eighties metalheads (like I used to be) to some real aggressive people who think disco died unfairly (I do not)...some things, you keep your John Denver stuff to yourself. It's a professional decision. My kids know that my beginnings on the guitar are rooted firmly in what I grew up around, but my co-workers and "friends" do not.
Barry Manilow was mentioned, and I have no specific problems with him. I can listen to him, but I don't own anything, and I don't sing along. There's no denying the man can push a note...it's just not my thing. I also grew up around the BeeGees music, as my parents were mainly flower children.
I can go word for word on Harry Chapin, too.
I guess the older I get (38, now), the less I care about what other people think about what I like...which turns out to be more and more what I grew up on.
Weird, huh?
I'm sorry if my entry into the topic wasn't the soul-baring, all-cards-on-the-table "Oh MY GOD! Captain & Tenille and the Village People! Please don't tell on me!" that you were looking for. I'm a generally boring person to begin with.
You want excitement around here, you reach for the cup. Dig?
