Okay, Admit It. You Can Tell Me....I Won't Tell Anyone

Post by Justice Hog »

Okay, if I'm a betting man, I would bet that all of us (when it comes to musical tastes) like a certain artist or group that we would never admit to anyone else.

Me?

I was, am, and I guess always will be a Barry Manilow fan. Do I share that with my friends? Absolutely not. They would chastise me all the time for it.

So, I'm a "closet" Barry Manilow fan.

So, now I ask all of you. Are you a "closet" fan of any artist or group?

That is just wrong. How do you expect to maintain anyone's respect with such revelations. I mean, it's not like he is a fabulous talent like the Cowsills, my closet favorite.

Bjork?

Seal?

Yeah there's a whole lotta 'closet' action going on in this thread, but it ain't a music closet.

Sadly, yes it's true. I like their late 60's early 70's music. My father had some of their albums, along with Neil Diamond, and I have always liked them. :)

Oh I won't tell anyone, but that doesn't mean that opinions can't be formed.

Go easy on all fo them Boss, they have to take it one closet at time. They're taking baby steps.

Just for the record I've never heard of a straight man who likes Barry Manilow. Here is the ultimate test, what do you think of Barbara Streisand??

I like a wide variety of music but nothing I'm ashamed to admit to fortunately.

I just read about an Australian shopping mall that was having "problems" with masses of adolescents clogging their parking lots. They solved their problem by playing Barry Manilow over loudspeakers in the lot. Apparently, adolescents find such noises quite uncomfortable.

Just to test it, I tried it with a group of my middle school students... it wasn't pretty. Oh, the horrors. I've had trouble sleeping, since.

Sorry, no Babs for me, thank you.

Actually, growing up in the 70s, playing piano, writing my own music, I guess I was just drawn to Manilow as a youngster and I suppose I've liked him ever since.

Go figure.
