Taylor is a rookie. It seems that he is a little frusterated with the play of our team (specifically the offense) so far. He needs to learn how to keep his anger under control. It is never right to spit on an opposing player because you are losing. He should apologize to Houshmengdojez (or whatever his name is) because what he did was unsportsmanlike.

I have been a little disapointed with Taylor so far. The Redskins have never had a Irvin-like or Kobe-like player on our team that has severe problems off the field. I totally understand the boy is young, but he should still know better. If these problems continue throughout this and next year, I think I'd rather have someone else take his roster spot.

Gibbs has always stressed having character players. He wants true Redskins on his team. Smoot should take Taylor aside and just have a man-to-man talk with him. Have Taylor follow Smoot around and learn how to have great character and be a player everyone respects. Respects not only as a player, but a man of character. He can still trash talk, but this off-field and unsportsmanlike stuff has to stop. Be a Redskin Taylor.
Have no fear, Moss will make it happen.

Just because Lewis and the Bengals are saying that Taylor spit in the guy's face doesn't mean that he actually did it. Secondly, nobody knows for sure what happened. The Bengals receiver could've spit in his face fisrt, like in the Porter-Green fight before the Steelers-Browns game. Thirdly, I don't really care what Taylor does on the field as long as he plays like he did on Sunday. That was a monster hit that he put on Rudi Johnson

At this point, that is just a rumor as far as I'm concerned. Unless you know whosywhatsy personally and he told YOU that Taylor spit on him.

I am sure Joe will have a private conversation with Taylor. Joe will deal with the situation privately if he needs to. He hates to make a circus out of anything.

I am sure there was more going on than Taylor taking any action, whatever that was. The Bungles were hot dogging and they should not do so.

A young player with a younger reaction.
Happens all the time. Here's the thing. "Immaturity" can be outgrown. His physical skills cannot be questioned, and those who try to start any comparisions to Winslow are missing the boat entirely.
After all, Winslow is done for the year. Sean has time to sharpen both his game and his attitude.
To play Devil's Advocate for a minute...if he did spit in what's-his-name's face, that's not a Gibbs-type player.
Yet.

Pros and cons of Taylor cons 1.He is young he will make mistakes on and off the field. 2.He does come from a school where recently some (high strung dudes) have come from.3.DUI and recent event with reciever on Bengels. Pros. 1. Has a great group of guys to learn from ,Smoot ,springs, and Coach Gibbs.2.Seemed to be a nice guy (met him), and last but not least has the tools to be great and has shown it on the field.Lets as True Skins Fans give him a chance, hes still a rookie after all. :)

Damn

I'll start by saying that spitting on an opposing player is the single worst thing you can do short of cheap shotting him. I don't know what happened, I'm just hearing words.

BUT...that was the same thing I was told when Taylor got that DUI, so I don't know what to believe. If this guy DID spit on somebody, you know, you have to question when enough is enough. He's been having a wacky year off the field and I'm starting to think it might be a distraction...idk, you say that immaturity grows out, but we said the same thing about Antonio Bryant...and I just have a feeling that AB is one guy it won't leave for a good long time...so who's to say Taylor will outgrow it?

He's just a kid. He's around too many grown-ups to stay a kid for long.
Then again, some kids never grow up.
See "Westbrook, Michael" for more information.

TcWest how is he supposed to grow up when the environment he is in is festering immaturity. The people he is surrounded with all have lots of money like himself and are immature (to a point).

It's being investigated by the NFL, so I suppose we will soon find out if it did, indeed, happen.

I don't know if Taylor spit on him or not, however, I will say this.

If Taylor did spit on him, he was wrong. It was a classless act.

If you want to intimidate an opposing player on the field, tackle him so hard that snot pours out of his nose. Play him close like a blanket. Even talk a little "smack" if that makes you happy.

In other words, let your "play on the field" put the opposing player(s) in their place. Don't "spit".

Taylor has the potential to be a great player. To get there, he needs to start developing a great reputation....an intimidating reputation. Having the reputation of being a "punk" simply isn't going to cut it in my book.

Sean, if you did this...please grow up and let your play on the field establish the type of player you are and can be...and not your conduct off of the field.

Redskins' Taylor Cleared in Spit Incident

NFL Will Not Fine Redskins Safety Taylor in Alleged Spitting Incident Involving Bengals Player

The NFL will not fine Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor after looking into allegations that a Cincinnati player was spit on during Sunday's game.

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said one of his players was spit on during Cincinnati's 17-10 victory. Lewis did not name either player involved, although comments from receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh implied the culprit was Taylor.

The league, as it does every week, carefully examined every play from the game and found insufficient evidence for action.

"Sean Taylor will not be fined," NFL spokesman Michael Signora said Thursday. "There was no video evidence to support a fine."

Taylor has not commented on the matter. The No. 5 overall draft pick from Miami hasn't spoken to the media since he was arrested and charged with drunken driving on Oct. 28. Taylor's difficult rookie year has also included a $25,000 fine for skipping one day of a rookie symposium.

Redskins coach Joe Gibbs said Wednesday he had not discussed the spitting matter with Taylor.

"It really hasn't been a big deal to me," said Gibbs, who added: "I don't have a clue what's happened here."

Can't the Gibbs-attackers at least make up their mind(s)? Yesterday, Joe Gibbs was too tough and demanding for today's players. So now he's too soft?

Yeah ok if you say so. You keep overlooking the little things. How many incidents big or small, before he does something majorly stupid.

My point is that this isn't even an incident. It's not even a mole hill, yet some are trying to make it into a mountain.

This smacks of all the whinning you 'pukes fans do about the LaVar Arrington hit on Troy Aikman. You are the only ones talking about it!

Tell you what. After a loss, the last thing I'D want is a receiver from the other side coming over to school me any further than he already has. I'd turn him away, too.
If that makes me a "punk", so be it.

Houshmandzadeh is only saying this because he knows we do not play them in the regular season for another 5 years. Unless we both make it to the Suber Bowl before then.

The next time we pkay them it would have all blown over.

If we were in the same division this guy would not have the guts to call out
