Did Patty inspire us to win last year? It was his second year in the system and we went 5-11.... I'm not blaming all that on Ramsey... but he sure wasn't an inspriation....

The only thing that will inspire this team right now is a good "Momma" slapping to the O-line telling them to toughen up and show alittle heart... and a can of stick-um for our RB's and WR's....

I think we should bench Mark Brunell.....while we are at it why don't we bench Laveranues Coles,Rod Gardner,Clinton Portis,Chris Cooley,Walter Rasby,Chris Samuels,Derrick Dockery,Lennie Friedman,Randy Thomas,Kenyatta Jones,Joe Salave'a,(if he's not injured if he is then we'll bench Brandon Noble) along with Cornelius Griffin,Renaldo Wynn,Antonio Pierce,Marcus Washington,Lemar Marshall,Shawn Springs,Fred Smoot,Sean Taylor,Matt Bowen,John Hall,Tom Tupa,
Ethan Albright and Chad Morton This should solve ALL our problems

I am not being a smart alec here but how else could you possibly fix that, besides letting him play and learn not to do it? I really do not know. I'm not as educated in football stuff as some of you guys.

Me neither! ;-) I am just confident that Ramsey would have worked out the kinks by now if he'd been put in against Dallas. Now I again will support Gibbs.

BringThePain! wrote:If Ramsey is in there, we're gonna see the same thing... except on top of that we're gonna see growing pains... why do we have to wait when we have enough talent and a good enough team & coaches to do it now?

Are you willing to bet your sig on that?? Oh wait a second.

Seriously though I believe in our team. I'm frustrated. So I'm trying to think of what could be changed to work. I cannot see anything else that we could do. I'm not blaming these loses on Brunnell. Hell if our special teams alone got better we'd likely have won at least one of those games. I guess in the long run what I think does not matter at all. I will not stop cheering for the team. I will not say "we suck". Did our play on Sunday suck? Yep. But it wasn't Brunnell alone. And it isn't a permanent conidtion. We could easily win, Brunnell or Ramsey. I have faith!

No I'm not mocking you, it's the idea we should bench the starting QB because we are losing and have only played the first quarter of the season. I've said we should bench Brunell and start Ramsey but thats normally on a Sunday night after a lost :? But it's Tuesday we should be over that by now and looking toward the Rasins (who have a short week, lost to a team that had yet to win a game, and they propelled Priest Holmes to the rushing lead in the NFL). If we are going to bench a Starter who won the job in the preseason then lets bench everyone that was named a starter and see how far that gets us

He can learn by sitting behind a vet for a year or two and learning the system mentally before ever being thrown into the fire.... A number of great QBs out there now, sat behind a vet for a year or two before taking over for their teams...

Favre, McNair, Hasselbeck, Green, Gannon, Culpepper, etc...

Ramsey hasn't sat behind anybody for more then a couple of games...

You have GOT to be kidding me??? What the hell is Ramsey going to learn behind Brunell?? That dink and dunks don't make first downs??? This argument is ludicrous. Ramsey should be in there. If nothing else, than for a spark. He showed a spark in the Giants game, just too bad he threw 3 pics. Ramsey has a better connection with Coles than Brunell by far. That alone would makes defenses a little less likely to stack 8 and 9 in the box. And to say our O-line needs to do better???? Again you all are on crack. They may not be run blocking well, but Brunell has had ALL day to throw the ball, especially against Cleveland. I was there and know that for fact. The only problem I saw was that Brunell STARES at his intended target. EVERY time. Ramsey may double clutch and hold onto the ball too long, but that can be changed. I seem to remember a saying though...you can't teach an OLD dog new tricks.

Here at TheHogs.net we want a link to evrey story that is posted at the end of the story or quote. Thats what should be expected from a site like PFT.

Yes... he learns Brunells Pros and Cons.... Just like you would learn watching someone play chess.... But you wouldn't be getting your kester kicked doing it...

Champsturf wrote:Ramsey should be in there. If nothing else, than for a spark. He showed a spark in the Giants game, just too bad he threw 3 pics.

Yes... you'd be the same guy after losing 4 games Ramsey starts, that would be screaming for Hasselbeck, then Hamden, etc... I know your type... fickle.... 3 pics is a spark ROTFALMAO

Champsturf wrote:Ramsey has a better connection with Coles than Brunell by far. That alone would makes defenses a little less likely to stack 8 and 9 in the box.

Actually, that would probably just make them double up on Coles.... To get the 8 out of the box, we would need to actually complete passes... something that's not all Brunell fault because he's not the one dropping them... I do recall the wideouts dropping Ramsey's balls too...no pun intended...

Champsturf wrote:And to say our O-line needs to do better???? Again you all are on crack.

9 sacks, and 369 yards in 4 games for our top RB.... and we're the one's on crack? :hmm:

OK so all the O's problems are Brunell's fault ..here's a question for you Brunell haters...who on our offense has played better than Brunell??

And before you say Coles or Gardner... think...if they hadn't dropped so many passes we wouldn't be having this discussion

There's no way Gibbs should consider a back-up right now, especially Ramsey. I LOVE that guy!!! He is tough, and he's got a great arm, but he lacks the NFL awareness for a QB. Brunell has been a very accurate passer. He moves, he's got an eye for the game. Might I remind you what happened to Ramsey when he entered the Week 2 game vs. the Giants??? Multiple turnovers and another loss. Why do you think Ramsey can do any better?!?!?!?! :?:
Have no fear, Moss will make it happen.

Alot of us have been saying to bench Gardner and put McCants in. So at least I am not blaming all the offense's problems on Brunnell. I am just saying I would rather have Ramsey in there. My preference. And the reason everyone is getting so down on Brunnell is because not once has he had one of those awesome plays that makes us all get to our feet and get excited. Coles has had one. Portis has had one. Heck even Gardner has had one.

I got off the couch (and that takes a really big play) when Brunell shook off a defender and hit Gardner in the end zone against Dallas. That was a tremendous play.

The one awesome play that you may have missed was against Dallas when Brunell avoided what looked like a sure sack then fired the ball to Gardner for a touchdown. How about the 4th down conversion to Coles in the Brown's game. Granted it's no highlight reel, but he has made some plays.

"Considering" being the key word in the story... I think Joe Gibbs considers all his options every day. He's loyal and doesn't react like a child. But one of the cards in his hand is - play Ramsey. He knows what cards he's been dealt. He doesn't look at his hand every five seconds and say, "Hey, I didn't even know I had THAT one!" Ramsey should see time, maybe not start, but I feel strongly that he's wasting away on the bench. Tom Tupa is a former QB and should be called upon to toss a pass for a first down on occassion. Tupa can toss a three yarder over the middle - easily. We've gotta start making plays and gambling a little - to tie in the card thing eh? :0)

Ok I'll buy the time thing but if we are still are not doing well and it's towards the end of the season, can I start asking for Ramsey again?

And Scooter I screamed fake punt several times during these last couple of times. And I had no idea Tupa had the experience to pull it off. Hmmmm very interesting.
