Hey Ant I posted one reason why I hate them in another topic, since you obviously didn't read it I'll re-post it here. It was about the game on Sunday Night when Jeter got beaned in the back by the catcher and interference was called.

Quote:
That it was enjoyable to watch!!! Did you hear him after the game? He was crying about it.

Thats one thing I hate about the Yankees whenever they don't win they cry.

Yes... as soon as someone puts on a Yankees uniform.... they turn into cry-babies No other uniform has this effect just the Yankees.............

Who's the crybaby???? Anyone who calls Jeter a cry-baby, doesn't know crap! The Yankees can cry all they want anyway and in October when your watching US on TV, you guy's can cry too!

I did mis-understand, sorry! You notice the Red Sox fans acting like they won the World Series after just winning a series of 3??? I hope they enjoy it, cause that's the ONLY kind of series they can beat us in. See you guy's in October....actually you'll see us.

What team do you guy's like, if you don't want to admit it, that's OK.

All you Red Sox fans be HAPPY Jason Varitek kept his helmet & mask on, cause A-Rod would have put him on the DL. A man would have went toe-to-toe, not tried to sucker punch.

Oh stop it. Golden Boy Rodriguez could take Varitek? Are you serious? Maybe if the Roid monkeys jumped in to help him. Watch carefully what happened. Rodriguez overreacts to a pitch that hit him the ELBOW PAD. He whines like a girl, waits for the umpire to get between them, and then gets exactly what he deserved.

Just so you know, we haven't won a series of three. Thus far, we have won a series of 13. You're crazy if you want to see the Red Sox in October. We are honestly the only American League team talented enough to beat the Yankees in playoffs. Schilling and Pedro twice in a series? Yes please....

Of coures. But don't tell me every Yankee fan in the world wasn't sitting in a pool of their own urine last year Game 7. We had that game won, except for the fact that we had a pile of bricks as our manager...

We aren't acting like we won the World Series!!!! We are acting like normal human beings act when they beat down their toughest competitor!!!! And it wasn't in just one series of three we have played four series this year and we have won THREE OF THEM!!!!!!

How the heck can you say the only series we can beat you in when we have won three?!?!?!?!?!?three?!?!?!?!?!three!?!?!?!??!

You must not be able to count very well!!!!

And Arod has got to be the dumbest person I've ever seen throwing punches at a catcher WHEN HE HAD HIS MASK ON!!!! What an idiot!!!! I was just glad to see that Varitek got out of Arod's head lock then got Arod in one and got a couple of good shots in.

That wasn't the best thing though.....The best thing was seeing Ortiz slam your starting pitcher to the ground then Trot Nixon pounce and beat the crap out of him!!!!!! That is nothing more then the ultimate insult....Beating down the opposing teams starting pitcher!!!!! That has to be even more insulting then that home run Bill Mueller hit off of your closer to win it!!!!!!!!

Baseball brawl...

Post by welch »

Just to step into the middle of this bench-clearing brawl, and afterrepating that I am a card-carrying member of the Washington Baseball Historical Society, and one of three people in the world, probably, who remembers Herb Plews...

But...

I thought there were a lot of similarities to the late-'90's Yankees and the great Gibbs Skins. Those Yankees were balanced. They were qiuet, not showy, not loud-mouth trash-talkeers, and they came through under pressure. I used to tell my daughter, the die-hard Yankees fan, that Torre was a bit like Gibbs: no bluster, everything inside the clubhouse, and a guy who stood between an egomaniac owner and his players.

No, I don't like Steinbrenner, but I loved watching Paul O, and Tino, and Jeter and the rest. Bernie Williams reminds me a little of a baseball-playing Art Monk...he quietly makes the plays.

Underneath Steinbrenner's mania, the Yankees are a very classy organization. So, I agree...there are lots of similarities between the franchises. And the Mets? Ouch.

=D> Very Good... Their learning this game of "Baseball" very well.... now they just have to concentrate on winning a couple of "other" series so they can get out of that 8 game dust trail their choking on right now... and then once they learn that... then they need to "win" in the playoff's when it really counts ;) Other wise were getting excited over nothing... kinda like you are right now

Who cares that you won 4 series against us, because when you break it down Red Sox won 8 games & the Yankees won 5, BIG DEAL!

Your bragging about "3,3,3" series that you won???? We won the World Series 4,4,4 times since 1996 & been in the WS almost every year. Your team is falling apart, maybe Nomar can play 2nd base for us next year.

The only reason Jason Fairytek went in front of A-rod was because he had his equiptment on! You can take off your mask for a pop-up & when you talk to your pitcher, but when you argue with A-Rod you LEAVE IT ON????? And that's right, a mask WON'T stop a MAN from throwing punches (maybe it will stop you). When A-Rod had him in a head lock did you see Fairytek try to pick him up & FAIL?????

It wasn't just Ortiz & Nixon, Kapler was there too! 3 against 1?????? and your bragging?????? He's not even a real starter for us! As for Mo', there's a first time for everything, don't count on that happening again. The Sox don't even have a consistant closer.

How's the view from 8 games back??? I'll ask TB, they have the same "view" of you guy's!

SO ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!

You need to relax some dude. Loosing to the Red Sox again and again and again is not the end of the world. Your team still sucks but they have an excellent shot at blowing another World Series title this year. :D

Don't worry I will be watching that. Whether its the Red Sox that are ruining your shot this year or another team I will be enjoying it!!!!

LOL, I'm not angry, just fired up! Let's chill out though. It's a long season, there's still 6 regular season games left & a long post-season!

You sound like you want us to lose, more then you want the Red Sox to win. We may suck (LOL), but we are a lock to win the division (and you know that's true). The Red Sox need to concentrate on winning the Wild Card, IF they make the playoffs then we'll talk again.

This thread right here shows how the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry is miles ahead of the Redskins-Cowboys rivalry...

Hopefully, we can get back to the rivilry we had when Coach Gibbs was here the first time. It sucks getting into an argument about skins v boys. They can pretty much end it with the last 12 games.....

I agree it is a long season. Those two series left in September will be post season games (at least for the Red Sox). I also agree we need to chill out some at least until the post season. If the Red Sox can keep it up they can get that wild card. I hope they do get it. It will be great for baseball and the fans of it to see another serious rivalry in the postseason.

Your right! Can you imagine if we get Randy Johnson???? It may be Johnson vs. Schilling in game 1, if we play each other in the post-season!!! That would make this rivalry even crazier!

First of all, let me thank all you boys for taking my little thread seeking historical knowledge and turning into a huge mess. I got all excited when I revisited the Lounge and saw how many responses there were. I figured, out of five pages of posts, somebody would know if anything like a fight between Nettles and Munson had ever taken place in the public eye.
Instead, I get Yankees-Red Sox redux.
Listen, I hate the Red Sox. I hate them with the same passion that I hate those Cowboys with. To me, Manny and Ortiz are absolutely the worst thing in baseball since Albert Belle. You think Ortiz and Nixon beating on Sturtze was good sport ? I seem to recall Tanyon pulling Nixon down by the neck to get him off the pile. That's just a new guy trying to be a part of his team. What Ortiz did was jump on a guy that was already on the ground. Oh, yeah. My big hero. The look on his face, which the cameras caught clearly, was pure, evil thuggery. Oh, and Varitek ? He kept his mask on because he knew the camera would catch what he was saying and because he knew he was taking advantage of A-Rod's infamous latin temper. Know what Posada would've done? He'd've walked the batter to first, and not said a word.
Now, that's classy.
What you have in Boston is a bunch of guys at the boiling point. It's certainly a frustrating situation. Every game against the Yankees is a World Series game. After the series, they lack the energy and enthusiasm, and the next team they play generally hands the Red Sox their butt.
Nomar, your very flaky but genuinely good infielder, was treated like dirt. The Cubs will treat him much better, and he will thrive there.
Maybe Pokey is your man there at short now.
All the Yankees do is win, baby.
"Sit back and watch the Redskins.
SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!"
