Some people learn from their mistakes

Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

After taking the Chargers to 14-2, he was fired to make way for Norval Turner. That's what he get's for associating himself with The Danny!

But, to answer your question: He retired. Get over yourself.

Some people learn from their mistakes ... mostly scientists.

Most people resist even acknowledging mistakes thereby preventing themselves from learning from them.

I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken. :hmm:

From the post that started the thread:
SkinsJock wrote: This franchise would NOT have done better by keeping Turner or Marty as HC
I think you are mistaken to include Marty here.
SkinsJock wrote:Snyder is THE MAIN reason this franchise has not done well
No question.
SkinsJock wrote:THIS FRANCHISE WAS NOT MANAGED BY ANYONE THAT HAD ANY NFL KNOWLEDGE FOR OVER 10 YEARS
If you are including Marty then this is another mistake. He was more than HC. He was Director of Football Operations and it appears he was doing an excellent job.
SkinsJock wrote:This FO will get things straightened out -
Hopefully correct.
SkinsJock wrote:it's going to take more time than even they thought
Could be.
SkinsJock wrote:This is a VERY good FO and this is a really good HC - both are the best we've had here since 1999 - THAT'S A GOOD THING
I could argue this but they are certainly a better combo than anything since Marty.
SkinsJock wrote:stick with the plan
This would have been a perfect way to end a post when Marty was 0-5 or after he finished 8-8. Danny didn't stick with that plan. I am with you in hoping he sticks with this one this time.

I am not a Marty fan

Marty did do a good job here and he did leave this franchise in better shape than when he started

This franchise is what it is because of Snyder's management and ego
despite all the indications he refused to let anyone, let me repeat, anyone, get the credit

we are where we are now because he had to agree to not have ANYTHING to do with the players or coaches

Marty might have done better, he couldn't, because of Snyder
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

SJ:

I think we have reached some common ground. I guess for me the mistake Snyder has hopefully learned from is the decision to not see things through with Marty. I hope he sees this one through.

You're right DM - Hopefully Snyder has indeed learned from his many mistakes
Snyder has seen what has happened here - he'll give the FO more time

the franchise is heading in the right direction - the main issue here is finding a QB in a market that doesn't have many really good ones available either through free agency or the draft

Snyder will remain where he is and try and keep the ego in check ... for now
