2011 Hognostications Week 4

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Some posters are already taking this calculated risk, their attempt evened out this week but I salute their effort. Good strategy.

Personally I take fewer risks earlier in the year as I'm trying to get a feel for the teams. Picking upsets before getting the feel seldom in my view pays off overall. But as the season goes on you're right if you want to win you gotta pick upsets.

Correct. This is a 16 game season... a marathon, not a sprint. Too many variables to look outside the CW at this point.

Somebody could have benefitted from an early departure from the "conventional wisdom" on week 3. But it would have been a fluke to make those guesses. This is a good and close race at the top always. My feeling is that whoever departs earlier and accurately from some games against the spread would have a good chance to win this competition.

Emphasis on EARLIER -and- ACCURATELY

Hey now I had my best weeks last week and this week.. Besides the colts not getting it done like I thought after a decent game vs the steelers I liked my picks this week. Cards get unlucky call that woulda helped my case a lot too. I'm a newbie at hognos but I think u gotta pick two close upsets at least each week right? I guess close games and upsets are different so idk maybe I'm playing safe too

I try to just pick the teams I think will win

but ... different strokes for different folks ...
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

TRO picks the right teams, but he's always going back and forth between this and his alternate reality and mixes them up
