Most people are playing conservatively following the odds this year. The winner will be defined as the Hognosticator who takes calculated and informed picks AGAINST the spread.

Some posters are already taking this calculated risk, their attempt evened out this week but I salute their effort. Good strategy.

Personally I take fewer risks earlier in the year as I'm trying to get a feel for the teams. Picking upsets before getting the feel seldom in my view pays off overall. But as the season goes on you're right if you want to win you gotta pick upsets.
