NFL suspended Redskins CB Phillip Buchanon four games for an undisclosed violation of league policy.

The suspension is league-issued, but there's no word yet on the reason. We suspect it pertains to the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. The Redskins will have to look elsewhere for help in the nickel during the first month.

He twitted that he had changed agents on Wed. then flew to Arizona on Thurs. By Sat Drew was his agent again, I pretty sure he violated some league rule over those 4-5 days so it may not by PEDs.

Rotworld is saying PEDs so I'm willing to bet it's not PEDs

If that's true about the agent thing, its pretty messed up that it's 4 games. Kinda harsh IMO but I'm just going off what we've heard which may or may not be true.

So, looks like Phillip is coming back again...but this time off of suspension.

We definitely need him back here. We're thin at DB and he's going to be a big upgrade there. This will bump Barnes back to dime, or...maybe Phillip will be demoted to dime. Anyway, we need him.

Sure, he strengthens the secondary but this will help the pass rush too. We'll get more coverage sacks IMHO as he's a better defender than Westbrook.

Good times.

So, who do we release to make room for him? It'll prolly be Thompson/Westbrook.

I like our top three of Hall, Wilson and Barnes. Even though I did put Hall on my disappointment list. But yeah, you really need 4 CB's in the NFL, we can use him.

We could also trade him if we feel good about the depth on the position. I just don't know what we need. Maybe a tall WR to throw to in the end zone?

We have 3 and you need 4 in today's spread O's. He's also insurance in case one of the other three go down. CB is critical, no way we should trade him unless we get a real deal.

Who gets cut to make room for him? A DB, a WR, or Sellers.

That's my question.

The obvious thing to do would be to cut another CB such as Thompson, but then again we are carrying a disproportionate amount of LBs, so it could be someone like White, Riley, or Fox. I don't see the FO cutting an offensive player other than a WR mainly because there are so many on the roster.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Wish I was a fly at practice like to see what's up with Hankerson as far as the tall wr position.. I been hoping hed be good enough to play soon. I've always liked Buchanan I'd think the same LB DB or one of the wide outs. How safe is Paulsen?

A third round WR not playing his rookie season is no surprise at all, it means nothing.

Looks like Thompson got the boot..

Ya I didn't expect him to be number two his Rookie year like Dez Bryant did as much as I hate the pukes he came out of the draft ready to start. I don't want to get too far off topic just thought he be that deep threat for the go up and get it ball and the redzone corner fade over defenders a little already. I know he isn't Andre Johnson but ya I was hopeful hed help sooner- over Paul at least

Ummmm... Thompson is a cornerback, not a receiver... :-$ but, I won't tell anyone...

Ok... I can see how easy it would be to confuse Thompson with Hankerson... names being so similar, and all... yup>>> :lowblow:

I think he was replying to Kaz about Hankerson. But I see how you could get confused.

I see that now... but I don't think I was the one that was confused... I do still want a ckRED to English dictionary...

That's likely just because Paul plays special teams so he's already on the active roster. I do recall he was in against the Rams, but I haven't seen him much at receiver. Hankerson would have to be activated solely at receiver, a higher hurdle. I'm sure they'd like him to get a taste of the field, but he's gotta beat someone ahead of him out to do it.

I think Hankerson will be alright... there's a reason he's still here, and Thompson is not.

Hankerson is fine. He'll be unveiled in shocking fashion just like Torrain was.
