Portis goes to Tennessee

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Portis goes to Tennessee

Post by 44diesel »

"Former Pro Bowl running back Clinton Portis is among the players scheduled to work out for the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday, according to a league source."

In his day, he was a solid back. I'll always respect what he did for us under Joe Gibbs... not so much what he did under Zorn.

I don't think he gets signed....maybe KC needs him more.

Very true, but can he even still perform at this level? It just seems to me like we took the best out of him when he had to bulk up and run behind an aging and depleted O line.

I remember it wasn't that long ago that he still compared himself to AP and a few other "elite" backs, but I just don't see it.

Clinton Portis could have been one of the best ever, he was special when the ball was in his hands. His attitude and work ethic did him in, just like McNabb.

We all can be lazy sometimes..........it IS an attitude... to be lazy consistently is what did them in...........

Not to mention he always delivered those huge blocks for Campbell. That, over time, has also done him in. Hard to keep healthy when you have to pick up the slack of the OL.
