Very true, but can he even still perform at this level? It just seems to me like we took the best out of him when he had to bulk up and run behind an aging and depleted O line.
I remember it wasn't that long ago that he still compared himself to AP and a few other "elite" backs, but I just don't see it.

Clinton Portis could have been one of the best ever, he was special when the ball was in his hands. His attitude and work ethic did him in, just like McNabb.

Not to mention he always delivered those huge blocks for Campbell. That, over time, has also done him in. Hard to keep healthy when you have to pick up the slack of the OL.
