from my heart..
I never got a chance to tell Vet how much I appreciated him. We argued, we cussed each other out, and at the end of the day him and I were still able to put that crap aside because of our mutual feelings for the things we love.. Redskins and our country. I cried today because I had many opportunities to tell him how much I respected him and of course I thought hey, I'll get around to it eventually.
Just want ya'll to know that I appreciate ya'll, even if we don't see eye-to-eye on certain things, we're all here together for our mutual love of our football team.
I'm crying as I type this but please remember to tell people how ya'll feel because one day when you decide to do it, it may be too late.
RIP my friend, will miss you much.

There also appears to be a second viewing on Saturday from 6-8 that is not listed on the funeral home website.
The family is requesting "family only" for the 2-4 viewing but has opened up 6-8 for the general public.

He was a good man. I never feel bad for those who go on, I feel bad for those left behind. Bless VetSkins, but most of all bless his family and the people in his life.
Hail to the Redskins!

Amen!
To all my fellow THN brothers, though I may not have met all of you personally, know this.....if we ever do have a chance to meet, the first round is on me.
No matter what the situation may hold or is said, remember to keep things in perspective.
To Dave... Hail to the REDSKINS!!!!!!!!!!
People may not remember exactly what you did
or what you said....
~BUT~
they will ALWAYS remember how you made them feel.

Umm... wow! I mean... I'm just stunned and at a complete loss for words.
Surfing the web this morning and thought I'd stop by since it's been a while. Saw this thread and honestly can't believe what I read.
For what ever it's worth, I'd like to share a personal experience I had with Dave. During my time as a staff member here at THN, I was working to coordinate an event for which THN was helping to sponsor. I received a private message from Dave in which he asked if I could make a personal phone call to him to discuss this event.
I remember at the time being a bit apprehensive about calling VetSkinsFan. This is somebody I didn't know personally and I take caution in phoning someone from a message board. However, from my time here at THN, I felt VetSkinsFan was a pretty good guy, and in the spirit of this event surrounding the Redskins, I decided to give him a call.
In spite of my preconceived notions prior to the phone call, I was surprised to come away from that phone conversation with a new found friend. Dave was genuinely a good man and it took a personal phone call for me to discover that. I came to learn that Dave was just a passionate individual... passionate about life, his family, his career... and certainly passionate about the Redskins. I envied his passion. This person was no longer VetSkinsFan to me... he was Dave, a new friend, and I was proud to have met this person - even if just over the phone - and I'm truly stunned and saddened to hear of his passing.
My prayers go out to Dave's family and friends. He will truly be missed. R.I.P. Dave!
And by the way... it would not surprise me in the least to discover that during Dave's short time in heaven, he's already sought out Sean Taylor and the both of them are kicking back with a cold one chatting up them Skins. Lol... miss ya bro...

I disagreed with him more than I agreed. Probably why I'll miss him more than most. Chances are I disagreed with any conflict he served in yet obviously honor the warrior even if not the war.
May this and all other veterans RIP.
May his family be blessed. I'm not a praying man but I will observe a moment of silence on this day when I learned of this sad news.
