Haynesworth
Looks like we have seen our last game of Albert Haynesworth. He played a full game, I dont know if he will be able to recover from this mentally and physically. He was just going through the motions out there. Body language says it all. Whats Shanys next move. Release?
Ugly game, what a sour taste going into the season. I hope armstrong is as good as advertised because our recievers are weak.

I wish Austin the best ....but he was shaky too. Dropped too many balls.

Coach Mike Shanahan on playing NT/DT Albert Haynesworth the entire game: "There's only one way to get him in football shape, and that's to have him practice and play."
Five passes for 94 yards and a TD, that might get him a spot, he moved further ahead of Banks tonight.

We won't be releasing Haynesworth, but I have misgivings about the wisdom of forcing him to play this game. I hope AH can swallow his pride, a trait he has never exhibited, and just keep his mouth shut. If he does, I think Shanahan may let the issue finally drop. Otherwise, this cold wind up being a season-long distraction.

I hope this is meant tongue in cheek. I'd agree with your philosophy guys should go out and play all the time like they care. But Haynesworth doesn't leave it on the field in the pre-season? There is absolutely zero news in that.

Armstrong is a bubble guy, who "advertised" he's our go to guy to actually make up for the rest?

we are NOT releasing Fat Al - I could care a rats arse what Haynesworth wants OR thinks (IF he had a NFL "in shape" brain cell it would be lonely) - he's one of the best DLs in the game WHEN he's in shape, Haslett & Mike's idea of "shape" NOT Fat Al's - he needs to be honest with himself and work harder to be able to play at the level we need him at - so far he's just a fat, lazy slob
I think that Shanahan is doing the right thing in how he's handling this guy - almost breaking him down so that everyone looking on can see what a waste of time and effort this guy is when left on his own - Haynesworth is going to be here this season and the only way 'up' for him is to get into shape - he's not there yet
Fat Al is staying and hopefully he's going to make it into the starting rotation ......... eventually
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
He had a couple of plays where he blew the Olineman up, but after that, we didn't see anything else. I did see some plays though where he didn't rush because his assignment was middle containment. I don't know if Haslett wanted to see him play within his scheme and not freelance, or that AH just wasn't trying. I do agree though, WE DID NOT SEE DOMINANCE. He should have gotten to the QB anytime he wanted against 2nd stringers.

AH on some plays just stood up and grabbed the guy. I feel really bad for the players who went up against AH b/c the coaches are looking at tape and saying - damn - we have nothing to eval. these guys against.
Personally, I think that the coaches understand what Albert can do. But for the most part, he's yet to show what he can do. He hasn't gone 100%. If he had put some plays together there in the 2nd half, then maybe coach would've taken him out. But all he did was sulk on and off the field.

Exactly. If he would just stop all of his "poor me" pouting and petulance, and commit to the team, this would have all been over weeks ago.

wow, there is a lot of emotion about the preseason games!
For those of you who dont understand, this game was for youngsters trying to make the team and AH to get some snaps.
AH got reps! I see this as success. He will be in better shape then if he had not played. And who cares if he didnt have 3 sacks and a fumble???
PRESEASON!

Big Al NEEDED the reps... remember this is a new scheme for him and new terminology
Shanahan NEEDS him to be fully ready to go next week.
Seems to me it was needed, considering AH didn't practice after he did get to camp and "passed" his conditioning test.

A better conditioned AH is a more effective player - he might be 'good' as is but he's going to be better if he's in better shape
I would not place too much on what other coaches/people thought about Mike in Denver - this is an upgraded, improved, better coach than that

After declining being released and cashing the $21 million check, Fat Albert skipped OTAs including the mandatory ones, arrived out of shape and couldn't pass the conditioning test for a week and a half, then he got a condition that was a direct result of his out of shape lard butt. When is he supposed to practice exactly? This was pretty much the last option and he made it so, not Shanahan. Shanahan not doing what he did would have amounted to that if Fat Albert doesn't do his job enough times eventually it's Shannahan's job to cave and let him off the hook.

I have no problem with him being conditioned.
I just hope that this is more business related than it is personal... It's on the fence. Now I'm not going against Shanny or anything but I'm just hoping it's not being done to the point that it becomes a detriment to the team as a whole. At some point, I hope for this to be over and for them to move on.
