My Hopes for Rd 1 - what's yours?
Here's something I've been going back and forth on for a while now:
1. Bradford
2. Okung
3. McCoy
4. Trade Down w/ SF for their 2 #1's including Campbell (value chart equates as a late 2nd round pick) also could include Haynesworth but that would require a 3rd round or multiple 5th & 6th or next year's 2nd.
13. Mike Iupati to play RT or G - most likely RG or CJ Spiller if we want to be crazy
17. Trade out of this pick as well to either a late first or early 2nd while picking up another mid round pick
My hopes is that we're active in moving around the board a bit to aquire more picks. Both our guys are very smart at finding value in the draft and I hope that being that this is a very deep draft we're able to shore up several area's of need.

My hopes for the draft:
Bradford - he's a future great QB
Okung - IF Bradford is gone and we cannot get out of the 4 pick we have to take this future great OT
Berry - this is a stretch and only if we cannot find a franchise that wants this pick
I just think there's going to be a lot of movement and trades associated with this draft

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

In the past it has been very difficult for the top 10 picks to change hands, but, for some reason, this draft is shaping up to be a big question at almost all the top picks
I'm kind of hoping we get Okung but at this time I'm also anticipating at least 1 team and possibly 2 teams moving out of the top 5
this is going to be a lot of fun

Bradford may become a great player, but we have a QB for now. We need an OT or whoever plays QB will get crushed.

Trade out of 4 w SF
Take Iupati and Trent Williams
Trade Haynesworth for a 2nd rounder = take Tebow
Trade Campbell for a 3rd
If we pick at 4 Take Eric Berry; I wouldn't spend a top 5 pick on a big ugly olineman there will be good ones in the fourth round, not all late round olineman are Chad Rhinehart

It's boring as hell, but I want us to stay and take Okung at 4. He's reported to have a great work ethic and we all know the talent he has. IMO, durability and work ethic are key, they're the main tools a prospect needs to become better than they are.
Williams and Davis has work ethic concerns and Bulaga has durability concerns. Okung is the only guy with elite talent, a strong work ethic and no history of durability. He is quick, has good speed, an incredible reach, great strength (best bench press at the combine)... he's mean, he's tough and he's a good leader who's also coachable and will fit into our locker room very well. I hope we get him.

1. We trade Campbell to the rams for their first round pick
2. We trade Haynesworth to the Lions for their first round pick
We then have 3 of the top 4 picks.
... meanwhile, back in the real world ... has anyone ever had 3 picks in the top 4?
In 2000 we had two of the top 3...

Chris Samuels and LaVar Arrington. So no, but they combined for 9 pro-bowls, and 16 NFL seasons. With better management there's no reason the Redskins of the early 2000's shouldn't have been an elite team. Dan Snyder screwed up soooooo badly in everything except that draft.

My #1 wish for this draft is that the Rams take Sam Bradford. I think it's a dumb pick that will backfire and that they should get Suh. He's the best D-Line prospect in 30 years. Bradford is a system QB who hardly ever took a snap from under center.
If the Rams do the smart thing, and take Suh that puts us in a TOUGH spot. I don't want any part of Bradford, even with Shannahan involved. I want Okung, we NEED a lineman!

I see a couple people suggesting we trade our #4 for SF's two first rounders. Its a nice dream, but if you were SF would YOU make that trade?
I'm hoping that we get a solid LT and don't trade away any more future draft picks.

From reports the Redskins are the only team still trying to make a deal with the Rams

Don't take late rounders with no talent. At least make an effort unlike the last regime.
I knew someone would feel the same as me.. I'm with Brad

Keep in mind that we're talking about different guys. Thankfully Shanny 1 has had the last year off where he said he's watched a lot of college football. He also has shown to find guys later in the draft and get very good production from them.langleyparkjoe wrote:brad7686 wrote:Take Okung
