If they go 7-9 or 8-8 and we have 3-3 div record...ill take that as a plus...I can't stomach 0-6 or 1-5 Div wise
With that being said ...we truly won't know if DS has changed UNTIL AFTER Shanny leaves. Its going to take at least 2 more years before SB is talked about around here...so that leaves a Shanny a 2-3 window to win with "his guys" ..
let's say he loses some tough playoff games in those years and leaves after 5...what DS does After that will be key......look at the Gibbs 2.0 years all we heard is how much he's learning and changing etc.
Then gibbs left leaving left structure and great coaching staff behind...it took DS TWO MONTHS TO ruin it by hiring Zorn after an embarassing coaching search..
I don't buy any of it..Trust hasn't been earned and our hearts have crushed too many times
Let's pray Shanny and Allen hit big with the QB sitaution and we take big step forward quicker than expected and having the Franchise QB after Shanny leaves. Will mask a lot of the expected Franchise dysfunctionality and chaos afterward...ask the Cowboys(post parcells)--Romo solves a lot problems for them
If the Cowboys had JC the last 3 years and we had Romo the perception of both Franchises would be different...
I'm realistic and to use a Gibbs term...SUPER HOPEFUL this works and works quickly

Not to pick on this poster, but this is what bothers me about Redskins fans who say they are being "realistic". They still persist in this talk that our main problem is the lack of a franchise QB. Sorry, but that isn't being "realistic". That's like worrying about buying a flat screen TV when you can't even pay your mortgage.
Riggo---Shanny without a doubt will field a very competitive OL in relative short period of time...BANK ON IT...OL is the short term problem
Franchise QB's are SIGNICFICANTLY harder to come by than a very good OL
Bears haven't had one in 40-50 years
Jets since Namath etc etc
All I'm saying that would be one his greatest gifts he can give this franchise amongst many other things
Solve the QB dilemma and find someone we can call ours for a long time
Do u think Peyton Brady Big Ben ROMO ELI etc are just the Flat Screens of their franchises???
There the BEDROCK of which their franchises are built on...OL is as well but to a much lesser Degree
Let me put to You like this....is their Redskin fan ALIVE that thinks Shannny CANNOT solve the OL problem in time??? Not One
QB on the otherhand?....We all pray he does

Fans are Gaga that Snyder wasn't at the Podium..Great ..he was sitting in the first Row...WOW
Shanahan is inheriting a drastically inferior situation to Gibbs...This team has more holes and bad contracts than I can count. THIS IS GONNA TAKE TIME FELLAS ..as Fans can we bare it? Will Snyder as an owner Bare it?
8-8 7-9 is very real next year...that's nothing to be excited about
To me were the best Fans in the world . I've seen us hurt so much from DS. Let's keep the helium to a minimium so in case this pops the burst won't be heard in Amsterdam.
Shanny needs to spend the FULL 5 years for this Franchise to change its colors permanently . This not about this off season Etc. Its a about long term philosphical change for DS and Skins....Its way to early to tell if it will happens. Marty Failed Gibbs was somewhat successfull but then DS crushed it.
Will Shanny be succesful ? And even if he is succesfull once he leaves does DS implode it?
So many variables not enough trust on my part. Snyder hasn't earned it.
I'm a happy man today for my Skins ...it a step in the right direction but a lot has to change for this Franchise to be year in year out Contender.
We have the right front office team now but we will never have the right owner. For that I stay realistic and tempered. ..
Hail!
How exactly, did Marty fail?

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
To slightly deviate - realistically, do you expect this team to be a playoff contender in two seasons under Shanahan and co? If so, would you also think that in 2 years, Campbell would be the best QB for the team, given what we have seen, because we do not know for sure what he might do?
IF you are Shanahan and you're looking at a #4 pick and there is a QB available that could be good enough to be really good for 10-12 years here, how do you not take him?
I think that too many here are looking to try and be as good as possible in the quickest time frame - I think that we should be considering being consistently competitive and given what we have now, that is going to take 2 seasons and 3 drafts at best - I think that Shanahan and the new guys here will mean that we are not going to have a shot at drafting in the top 10 for a few years unless they completely drop the ball
realistically speaking - while I want to improve the offensive line - that pick should be used on a QB IF you think he can help this franchise for a long period of time
just to stir the pot a little more

Sacrilege!!!
Superbowl next year here we come !!!

Do you want to bet anything non-monetary that somebody in this board screams Superbowl before the beginning of next season???

Oh, you may have not been around this board long enough. Sometimes the off-season Superbowl winner attitude tends to linger into the first week of the regular season for some ... until reality strikes back yet again.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Shanny is no dummy and Allen either. I'm thrilled with our F.O. now and you will see results sooner than some may think. I'm thinking back to the mess 2000-2003 when it was ugly then Gibbs comes back and yes it took him awhile to adjust to the NFL again and some may argue that he really never did but you can't Deny that we started whooping the Cowboy's ass again and two times to the playoffs. Gibbs retires again and it was right back to 2000-2003 again. Danny,Vinny,Zorn what a remedy for failure!!
You really want to fix a big mess you start from the top and work your way down. I have seen it before and it's true for a company, team, organization. The people you have at the top will trickle down all the way to the bottom. You have losers running things then you will have loser results!! Shanny and Allen will start the dismantling off the staff and team and find the winners that are here and replace the scrubs with real talent.
Shanny will study(like he hasn't been for the past three months)the team and staff and he will replace them with the talent it will take to be winners again.I'm confident that Shanny and Allen will be a dominant force and be more successful than Gibbs return.
No more Dumb and Dumber posts,no more why are we not addressing the o-line,Yes Cambpell might be here for one more year but if he still plays the deer in the headlight look with the game on the line after being coached up by Shanny I think he will see the bench and fast.
I'm not worried we have qualified people now in the front office things are getting better now I promise!!
