How do we know that? Last time I checked Jim Zorn hasn't given anybody else of a chance. Why have Marcus Mason, and Anthony Alridge on the roster if we aren't going to use them?

Surprise, surprise ... players with great intensity are beginning to sound frustrated. I guess it is CP fault. What a darn joke is your critcism about the player who has been carrying this team's offense for the last few years.

Thanks guys. Gratefulness is appreciated.

I don't care what he has done for this team. I'm tired of his act. I have been patient with him and this is the final straw that broke the camels back. How many more people does this clown have to throw under the bus before you feel the same way?

I agree. For all his individual talent, CP is not a clutch player and does not elevate the performance of the people around him. Entertaining and charismatic for sure, but not the blue collar guy I want to cheer for.

Portis needs to go. He's on the tail end of his career and RBs are a dime a dozen.

Amen ... for a lot of fans, CP won't be appreciated until he retires. Don't know whatcha you've got, 'till it's gone ...

Portis is a stud. He's been THE OFFENSE for the past few years, and the only consistent producer. You might also say that right now, he is the canary in the coal mine.

Clearly the offense is in deep trouble, and if Sellers is missing enough blocking assignments for Portis to actually call up to the booth and request other blocking help .... where are the coaches? Do they not see what's happening on the field? Where's the leadership ... why has Campbell not addressed this with Zorn on the sideline. Campbell is supposed to be the field general ... Brother ... this is bad news all around. The darned coaches are supposed to see this and make adjustments/changes, but have we seen any change? Have we seen any improvements? All we see is the same ole same ole, every game this year. Calling the same predictable plays, and a complete refusal to hold players accountable for their on field performance.

Last week, we saw one of the worst QB performances imaginable in the first half. The issue here is that if you aren't going to sit someone playing that poorly, it sends a message to everyone else ... hey .. we're just gonna keep trudging forward ... it's OK boys, things will get better .. we're making progress. So, everyone sits back waiting for the other guy to step up and make a play.

Nonsense. If somebody isn't executing, get em off the field. Let everyone know that mediocre isn't acceptable, and that NOBODY is excluded from that standard. Make a mistake .. it's alright .. just make sure you don't do it again. Keep making the same mistakes, and you'll have to watch someone else do your job from the sidelines.

Portis is frustrated. He's been marginalized and reduced to a 1st and 2nd down back, and he's a gamer. He's highly competitive. And he shouldn't have had to be the one to call for help from the coaches ... and I also wonder how Sellers got wind of this call upstairs? Did the coach tell Sellers?

It's clear at this point that Zorn's steady as she goes approach is going no where fast, and his offensive coaching staff is looking like a joke ...with the FO feeling the need to steal someone out of a Bingo hall to come in and take a look at this complete debacle.

On defense, Blache stepped up to the plate. He's made some changes on defense, and if someone is struggling, he pulls them. The offense seems to be waiting for the tooth fairy to put a TD under their pillows.

Maybe Portis just doesn't believe in tooth fairies?

Each player's success depends on the performance of the other. Quite frankly, I'd tell them both that if Portis doesn't rush for 100 yards this week, they'll both be benched until the bye week.

There are too many other factors to make it black and white like that.

True enough. My post was partly tongue in cheek, and partly sheer frustration at this team. And I freely admit that I've never been a fan of Portis' attitude. Generally though, he has always given 100% on the field. It's not his fault that he's on a contract that is way above his ability, but then he's not the only Redskin of the last 15 years that I could say that about.

I retract what I said, because if we start benching players who aren't performing, we won't have enough for a game of table tennis.

those are good points Ray, why did CP had to call upstairs, it shouldn't have gone that far, the coaches should've caught it a lot earlier.

Ray, I totally understand what you are saying, if this was the first incident then I don't think I would have a problem with it, but this isn't the first time with Portis. My problem with this is that Portis continues to throw numerous people under the bus, he doesn't know when to shut up, and this situation Portis crossed the line. As far as where are the coaches? I agree with you, what the heck is going on the field for the coaches to not see that guys aren't doing their jobs. And secondly if they do see it then they need to make a statement by benching that player. Look at Mike Tomlin, he benched two players this year one for dropping passes and the other for making mistakes in practice.

I've seen Mason (only a few plays) Betts, and Rock on the field this year and none have overshadowed CP. That's what I'm basing on. Where's your PoV coming from besides just crying about off field antics?

I'd think it unfair to bench CP for anemic run blocking and predictable playcalling in their run game? If someone else was showing him up, that's one thing, but no one can block like he can and no one is making him look bad on the field.

Another big gripe on Sellers. He waffles and goes east/west when he blocks. Dang it, just get your big ass and block someone...plow through, hit big and knock ONE person out. But no no no....instead Sellers thinks he can block everybody by lightly patting one rusher, then moves to another, then another. Watch him closely.

Hey Mike, you play and I don't but remember lesson 101...block ONE person, do your job. You cannot block 4 rushers at the goal line or when trying to get short yardage. Just pick a guy and BLOW HIM UP....

You're a big pansy.........lately

Sellers is probably the most overrated player on this team. He continues to live off of the hype from his 2005 season.

I was a fan until seeing him with TC. TC had him go to one side because he was lined up on the wrong side, he was actually trying to argue with TC, lol, while the playclock was running and we were forced to burn a TO... That to me seemed selfish, get to the side and run the play. Then he begs for the ball hell he drops about as much as he catches... He ran over a lions safety, yah, the guy somehow still got him to the ground (tripping) but still he didn't break it and score a TD at that play.

I don't have an issue with Portis' personality, however he is close to being washed up. We need a new top 2 RB's next year instead of Portis and Betts. Draft someone and sign someone.
