Last time I checked Big Ben won a Super Bowl with a subpar offensive line. He was sacked 54 times last season.

Can you please stop using Big Ben as your one example? Campbell is not Big Ben, and in any case, Big Ben is the aberration, not the rule.

There are other examples of qb's that played better than JC despite having struggling offensive lines.

Matt Cassell was sacked more than any other qb in the NFL (47 sacks) and still had a qb rating of 89 and threw 21 td's.

Aaron Rodgers was sacked 34 times and yet had the 6th best qb rating in the NFL and was 4th in the NFL in td's with 28.

Did they have receivers? Did the Redskins?

Our receivers aren't that bad. We also have one of the best tight ends in the NFL. JC had enough to work with, he just couldn't get the job done.

Like CLL has pointed out numerous times, if the receivers are so bad how come Collins did so well with them when he played in 2007?

Because he had at least or around 10 years in the same system

 So the receivers weren't a problem for him then?

Did he have Thomas or Kelly? Were they in their second year in the same offense? Was the O line playing better? Did we have a running game in the second half of the season?

oops and yes the receivers were a problem imagine how much better our season would have been if we had better receivers. I understand where you are coming from CanesSkins26 but believe me qb is the least of our problems.

Sorry, but qb is one of our biggest problems. We have a below average starting qb and that is a major problem.

Ok well I am all for getting rid of JC now. Lets bring in the best qb out there and see what he can do then I am convinced now. That way maybe some of the fans will understand and so will Snyder I hope. It is worth it to have another sorry season and not build just so people can understand.

We never give up hope here but what team were you looking at last year?

We were lucky to be 8-8 and the fact that we were 6-2 to begin the season was not due to us winning 6 games, there were some games that the teams we played lost when they were clearly better on the field.

We had trouble beating Detroit and other teams that a 'good' team should not have had trouble with.

The Redskins are not going to be very competitive for a couple of years - oh! we can win some games but we need to get a team back on the field that wins the games they should win - we were damn lucky to be 8-8.

we are not a good team - we have some very good players here but we have not played well together for some time and it is going to take a while to get back to that level again.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

ROTFALMAO What games did YOU watch last year? Have you re-watched any games or are you just making this stuff up in your head as you go along?

 But whatever... some of you just kill me with this nonsense. And SkinsJock, I'm not just laughing at your post, there's many here. I also remember not long ago when you weren't like this. :?

We also lost to teams we were clearly better than (Rams, Bengals, 49ers), so what's your point?

Better than the Rams and Bengals, yes, but we were not clearly better than the 49ers.

I think our offensive line is our most glaring weakness. Yes Jason Campbell doesn't appear to be the great talent that I once thought he was, but he can deliver the ball pretty nicely when he has adequate time. Our pass protection is bad. Dockery was a huge signing IMO, but we need more. One of the top 3 OT in the draft would be even bigger. Man I really want Andre Smith for some reason. I hated paying Haynesworth that money, but if he doesn't turn into Gilbert it could make us a game changing type defense.

If our line can give JC a little more time and Haynesworth plays as billed, we ARE Pittsburgh.

That Pittsburgh team that won the superbowl was weak on offense, but scary good on defense. Look how good our defense is with NO pass rush.

I'm expecting(albeit with a grain of salt) this team to be much better than the 4th ranked defense we were last year, and to have that offense of weeks 2-8 and more the whole season. Zorn is a good coach with a great offensive mind. He just needs to know he is and just do what he knows works. He playcalled scared the 2nd half of last year, much like he started the season. He'll be fine.

anyway, that's my skewed version of the state of the redskins.

Can't wait for the draft!!!!
Death to the EGO! RIP 21
