Snyder-Shanahan meeting

Post by Todd Bowles »

There is a rumor circulating that Snyder flew to Cabo and met with Mike Shanahan --- has not yet been confirmed by the mainstream media, but some bloggers (including me) are talking about it...

Yeah I heard that Shanahan met with Danny Boy. I think it stinks.

A better ending would have been Snyder named himself HC

Wow, let's hear a rumor, assume it's true, bash Snyder for his failure to let his team gel, and if it doesn't happen we can bash him for failing to make obviously needed changes. When we never hear of it again, we can say how no one would ever work for him, which is why we haven't had a head coach for the last ten years and count Zorn and Shanahan on the list of coaches who were fired by Snyder even if Zorn is still coaching since clearly we can conclude now that Snyder didn't want Zorn to be the coach.

I think I covered it all...

That's what i was thinking. Was Shanahan the GM in Denver?

Shanahan was one of the Holmgren-type coaches with final say in all football matters. He got Sundquist (the paper GM)fired last spring, and took on the title...which is to say, he was a fantastic coach, but a horrible GM. Who else would look at the D-Line of another team and then buy the whole line? After Elway retired, they went through the dance with Griese's kid, then bought Jake "The Snake" from Arizona, stuck with him for a while, went to Cutler, eventually. We dealt with Shanahan with the whole Bailey/Portis deal, not Bowlen or the GM.
To bring him here as a GM would be disastrous.

Thats what I was thinking. The blog is sounding like he wants Shanahan to be the HC but he doesnt its Zorn, and thats final. Maybe he wants him as a FO guy or maybe a FO job with some influence on the coaching, like helping out Zorn some, giving some advice. Idk, who does anymore?

Shanahan is the last person we need either as a coach or GM. The NFL had passed Joe Gibbs by and he had an excuse of being away for many, many years. The NFL has passed Shanahan by and he was/is still coaching.

Man, I bet they wish they wouldn't have said that Zorn's job was safe.

I've heard the same. I'd love to say I was a fortune teller when I posted this the day Shanahan was fired, but you really didn't need to be Nostradamus to see this one coming.

#1. Unless someone is tracking Snyder's plane I call BS.

#2. The whole article reeks of sarcasm or as a failed attempt at humor.

#3. Due to #2 the writer is an idiot.

Zorn was 8-8 with a more talented roster than other rookie head coaches one of which is in a conference championship game; Shanahan has rings, I am not married to Zorn but I don't see him being fired.

this O line was watching people run past them like the fat kid on the middle school play ground, the WR could not get open deep....the dline NEVER got pressure, the LBs were always hurt (washington, rocky) the DB were a surprise, good thing hall was signed cause springs was hurt alot again.....

I'm one of the "Snyder Bashers" but this is nothing but ...rumor. It doesn't mean a damn thing until it's been confirmed.

Offensively this is only half true.

Baltimore has the better QB... I said that before we played them and I was chastised not that I cared, lmao.

Baltimore has a better STABLE of RB. We have the better individual back.

Baltimore was in our position with offensive line woes but a better run FO has gotten them to a respectable degree in just 1-2 years.

We have a better TE.

We have a better WR corps if you go by potential.

Statistics would beg to differ. But Flacco is pretty impressive for a rookie. And Tennessee did succeed in not covering Derrick Mason last week. Who, by the way, is much better than any of our receivers because he actually runs routes and makes tough catches. And still has some speed.

If you had the choice of Flacco or Campbell right now which one would you take? I know that I would take Flacco without hesitation.

Statistically they were similar, which isn't saying much for JC since this is his 4th year in the NFL and Flacco is only a rookie.

*smackforum* your statistics. Wins beg to differ. I watch him play every week, he's better than Jason. Get over it.
