Bring him back!

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

I agree with this.

But please pass on Williams. His defenses drove me crazy.

This year has been a little better as we are seeing more man coverage, but more importantly the players are playing the ball!

There's no such thing as bend; don't break. Don't bend, then you don't have to worry so much about breaking!

How can having a top 10 defense equate to sucking?

I am also curious - why does a team that is rated the #7 defense against the run, #3 in pass defense, #2 scoring defense and #3 total defense get a "suck" rating? :hmm:
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Because according to "true redskin fans" they are supposed to be able to hold every team in the NFL to under 10 points.

I was talking about Jacksonville's defense.

And I take it back, they don't suck. They're mediocre. They're 15th overall in yards allowed per game.

That'd only matter if yards equated to points.... They rank 7th in points allowed per-game. That's what truly matters. The ONLY thing stopping them from being in the top 5 is that those teams have a passrush/defensive line.

My bad also - I was using the Titans defensive numbers

I do know that Williams is at Jax but again their defense is not really bad - mediocre is appropriate, but then if you bring in a guy with a rep like Williams, I'm sure they are a little disapointed

The Redskins defense has improved since Williams left.

Scoring
11th in '07
7th in '08

Total Yards Allowed
8th in '07
5th in '08

Jacksonville however has not improved since acquiring Williams

Scoring
10th in '07
19th in '08

Total Yards Allowed
12th in '07
15th in '08

Here's some side by side of the teams and how they've fared with and without Williams.

Interceptions in '07
Jacksonville 4th
Redskins 23rd

Interceptions in '08
Jacksonville 12th
Redskins 15th

Overall Defense in '07
Redskins 8th
Jacksonville 12th

Overall Defense in '08
Redskins 5th
Jacksonville 15th

All of these stats can be verified on NFL.com

So, why is it we want to bring Williams back again?

Since acquiring Williams from last off season their defense has gotten worse. Our defense has gotten better. There is a reason why Williams is gone at the end of the year.

Yeah, he was fired for Norv...

And Marty is too great to not eventually succeed, just like Cowher. He regulary got his teams far into the playoffs, he's not the one executing on the field but I guess that excuse is exclusive to Zorn.

Seriously! It's not Marty's fault Earnest Byner fumbled at the one, or Elway went on "The Drive." Marty's been a winner everywhere he's been. He turned us around in one season, but The Danny threw it all away on the old ball coach. He turned the Chargers around, and now, like petulant children, after a couple of playoff losses, they have turned that franchise over to Norval "Team Killer" Turner. Marty's not coaching because he chooses not to. I'm sure he gets contacted often. He's probably waiting for the right offer.

I coundn't agree more. I 've never judged someone on how many rings they have. Marty wins...Billick has a ring, Fassel been to a SB. Gruden won on the heels of Dungy would you take any of them over Marty?? Given time a good coach will win Cowher and Dungy are prime examples. Jeff Fisher is another.
