they couldn't keep from bing pushed back into the secondary on run plays.
And a safety like Taylor won't help the run defense... puh-lease. Having a guy who can cheat up to the line, or drop back... come on... why the bug over Taylor? So we didn't get Udeze... big whoop... we got a stud... just not the one you wanted... is that what this is about? And how could we have known that Udeze would fall as far as he did... that's a complete mystery to this draft... the fall of the defensive line prospects... maybe its because they weren't that deep in talent.
You surprise me Rich. All year we talked about the lack of run support from the safeties... now you're ignoring it and saying that it was completely on our line? And now you pull out this garbage about bailey cheating on a run play... yeah you know why... no safety to shore up the run... bad schemes. A guy who moaned all year that our defense wasn't half as bad as it played due to the COACHING and scheme suddenly feels different?
Somebody like you who understands defense should just understand a lot more implicitly what a safety like Taylor will mean to this 4-6 defense that Williams runs. Somebody who understands that EVERY draft pick is a crap shoot... should know that there are very few sure things. Taylor probably is... a lot more than udeze, and Troupe and Watson don't even belong in the same sentence...
Shoot - why don't we have Taylor, the next coming of the Messiah, play all 22 positions - he can ya know!
I'll settle for solidifying a position that has been a problem for a long, long time. Solidify a position that you and I personally whinced about week after week... solidify a secondary that HAD to watch for the run, but won't now that they have a real DC in there.
Statements like 'the next coming of the Messiah' are a little much. If someone posted that to you, you'd be offended that someone would over-generalize to the point of making such a ridiculous statement.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
