Alexander CUT???

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Not too surprising. Alexander isn't anywhere near the player he once was.

if he were to stay with the team he would dmand far too much cap space..

the signing of Julius jones pretty much sealed his fate. By the way julius jones has got nothing, especially vs. the skins.
I know this guy named Jimmy, he has a pet....POSTERNUTBAG! Thats his cats name, POSTERNUTBAG!!!

It's amazing really that so many fans think the talent of a NFL player is the main reason that they do so well statistically.

Alexander was only as good as the line blocking for him. He never was as good as he looked.

The reason that the Vikings were so good at rushing the ball last year was not so much due to the talent of the RB BUT more importantly because of the guy they got from Seattle.

This is a team game and having players that play well together is far more important than having talented players surrounded by players who do not.

This is why we do not need talented players as much as we need players who make the other players they play with better.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Oh, I agree with you about the line. Seattle's running game took a big hit when they lost Hutchinson. However, I think that even if they still had the same line, Alexander would still be struggling. He's had injury problems and physically just doesn't look like the player that he was.

Didn't he sign something like a 6 year, 80 mil deal in 2006?

Alexander was due to earn $4,475,000 in base salary next season.

Released two years after signing a six-year, $63 million contract.

You are right on - I'm being a little harsh about Alexander primarily because he got that huge contract after his great year. I just felt that Seattle made a big mistake in deciding not to match that very good contract from the Vikings - I know it was a contract that seemed ridiculous BUT good offensive line blockers are the primary reason why good backs look great  Hutchinson helped Alexander get a lot of those yards through the left side of that line.
Actually, I agree with you in that he was a decent back but the team made a mistake in their estimation of what he was going to be like both as a RB and without Hutchinson
