Thank God!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sitting here with another Redskins fan. We were thinking it was going to be Kellen Winslow. We were bummed out. This is a great day. Welcome to Washington Sean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let us all gather around and drink the Cooley-Aid of the Redskins.

I would have been happy with either...

But we have enough weapons on offense.

We need some help on defense.

Im so happy we got Taylor! This is great! I am mad that Eli is going to the Giants but oh well they gave up a 3rd rounder this year and a 1st and 5th next year which is a lot to give up. Taylor is going to be special!!!

This is a GREAT pick. Those of you that think we should've taken Winslow, think about trying to sign him...Ever hear of the name Poston? He may have NEVER signed and then where would we be?
Is it September yet?

Taylor is just what we needed to cover Shockey.

I hate to say it but this was a bad pick. Winslow was perfect for a Gibbs offense. The only reason they picked Taylor was due to the loss of Baily in the backfiled but a safety does not take care of a corner.

Those highlights of him hitting people were amazing. When was the last time we had a saftey who hit so hard? Mark Carrier? When was the last time we had a saftey so talented? Ken Houston? This guy is immediatley going to be challenging Roy Williams for the top saftey in the league...

And Winslow will be challenging every TE in history to be the best of all time.

C'mon skinsfan55, I doubt we would've been able to sign him. Let's get over it and move on. I would've been very happy with Winslow too, but Gibbs made his choice and we should all have faith in what he's doing.

Dude, you lose credibility when you say stuff like that. Will Winslow be challenging for the top tight end in the league? Maybe, although I think Tony Gonzalez is in a league by himself. This pick was about the best fit, and frankly, we needed a top saftey more than top tight end.

Now turn that frown upside down and be happy we have a wrecking ball playing free saftey...

Excellent pick! There is zero validity to knocking it.

Taylor more than makes up for the loss of Bailey by improving Smoot and Springs simply with his ability to help cover routes and hawk the ball.

Props to Gibbs. You know he was itching to take Winslow. But in the end, a safety is on the field for every defensive play, and he has the ability to change every play, where and H-back will block more than 50% of the time, and you can get a great blocker like Koz on blocking downs, and move a big reciever like McCants or Gardner into the H-back position on passing downs. This was a Redksins first move . . . mega-props to the FO and coach Gibbs.

FYI - did you know that Taylor scored more touchdowns last year on defense than Winslow did on offense?
Dave Butz was a monster. Nobody ran on number 65.

Very well put. I think Taylor can raise the level of the whole defense this coming season.

I think this was a GREAT pick! Heck .. it would've been great to have Winslow but I agree with the rest here. Dealing with the Postons was the variable that changed the decision. We got a great player in Taylor PLUS slapped the Postons at the same time. I like it.

Winslow wasn't a good fit for this offense. Can't wait to see Taylor take someone's head off!

Taylor had more picks then the top CB taken in the draft.

DeAngelo Hall 8

Sean Taylor 10 (with 3 ran back for TDs)

yeah this is a great pick, i dont mind having a potential Ronnie Lott that will be destroying people for years to come, I wish we didnt trade that second pick because we could have then possibly picked up Ben Troupe
