Yeah I seen the play. But just like everyone here I didn't see the route he ran, or if he stopped running.
You can slice it or dice it or mask it however you want. The fact of the matter is he doesn't PRODUCE...
And you followed this up with a quote from the WP about his limited production

You can't say he doesn't produce then turn around and point the production should be greater to prove your point. Actually it makes your first statement moot

Are you upset that he doesn't produce or are you mad about his limited production

Agreed

That's a huge insult to JC, JG, and AS that Lloyd's lack of production is due to a lack of opportunity to produce. Sounds like you're saying it's on Jason , Joe and Al not Lloyd.
He's on the field during games.
When he's on the field he doesn't make plays.
Nodoby is designing the O to steer away from him.
Face it. He's a bust. You guys cut AA zero slack. What has he done to endear himself to you? He's done less than a scrub since he's been here.

If Llode took one more step befor jumping he would have had a TD. He simply jumped too early. The ball was thrown well, most NFL WR make that catch.

He could have avoided all of this if he had done his job and caught the ball.

Then again, he is "BLloyd", so we shouldn't expect him to actually catch the ball, right? Maybe he can get inspired to write a rap song about this r something. Just a thought.
Considering the guy you fervently backed shares a large chunk of the responsibility for the dismal showing by the receivers last year, that post is pretty hypocritical. I suppose if he wrote a sermon about it that would excuse him.

I was thinking it, but would not have posted it because I am done

Santana has proven himself. He had a bad game, but he would have made that catch or made sure no one else did.

My last, last, very last post on this topic (for now): I am simply frustrated by the situation with Brandon. As I am not in posession of game tape, I can't say with any certainty how often he finds himself open or how he is being used in particular sets. But, as the third wideout in this team's offense, to simply say "he gets chances and doesn't produce" seems overly simplistic to me. I believe the guy has a great deal of potential. I further understand the notion that says "look, he has produced at an historically low level thus far." There is some legitmacy to that. My position is that the change in quarterbacks and late season focus on the run are mitigating factors in last year's scenario. Thus far this season, we have one game on which to rely. That's just far too small a legitimate sample size for me to agree that giving up on the guy makes any sense whatsoever. I think the team should make a more concerted effort to feature him more prominently in the passing game before we can determine, in an empirical fashion, whether his presence on the roster is beneficial. I'm not saying let's give the guy lifetime employment, I'm saying let's figure out what he can do. It's a $2 million cap hit, no matter what, I'd like to see if we can get a return on that.

That more accurately sums up my feelings as well ... I'd love to see some game tape of Brandon when he is on the field
I'm with you there! e can't tell how well he is actually playing. All we see is when he does get the opertunity to make a play on the ball and my comments have been mostly about this one play. I haven't been impressed with him and I have seen more negative than positive, but we don't get to see everthing.
I still hold hope that he gets his head straight, because he has the talent to get the job done.

lack of results are beginning to look like a trend with Lloyd... if it continues, whether the balls are well thrown or not, he'll be replaced...
I fully agree with all of this but it's been a season and a game and some poster are acting like Lloyd takes their lunch money on the regular bases and they just have to get him out of here.
Again I'm not going to defend the guy but if you go back half a year he wasn't the only one getting this treatment around here. Carter use to share threads with his ex-teammate until he fell into a grove. Once AC started getting to the QB the hating stopped and the press started talking to him. After that you would see post-er saying they understood how he needed to adjust after moving from SF and getting into a new system (these are the same things Lloyd had to do). It took Carter 10 games to get it going. During those ten games Lloyd had Brunell running the offense, Portis nursing a injury and Moss with "hammy issues" on and off. Even under those circumstances he should be given a few games into a new season. Nope he hasn't got a break since he took his helmet off on field and it always comes up, Frost did the same thing. We heard about it for about 4 days.
Someone said something off the wall about "Brady being able to paint will mud" in the Caldwell thread. Along those same lines I say if you're going to paint spread it evenly.
Some may not want to here this but it's due...
Lloyd is getting beat up unfairly. Normally I don't comment on him mostly because I always try to be positive and he does a Podcast for the site. The site had nothing to do with my choice but as a staff member I know there are those out there that would take what I post and mistakenly think I'm only posting that because he does the Podcast. Been there, Done that. Would have been just as far off base as the last accusation. The truth is I rarely listen to podcast but when I do I make it a point to listen to his, more because of the time and work JF and others put into making it available to those Redskin fans that visit the site. I've listen to his music ( like some, not so hot on most

Just a note: One of the gripes they have about him is he feels he too good to talk to the press yet he takes the time to take questions from members of this site weekly if possible
Lately post-er have been getting down right out of control, stating unfounded opinions of others as fact and reason to act. Everybody else got the "Al's 700 page playbook takes a year to learn" pass what happened to his, considering he switch QB's (OK he got a QB) late in the year, at a time the Head Coach "changed" the playbook and went back to Joe Gibbs football (receivers roles aren't the same as in that 700 page one). The #2 receiver's numbers will go down right off the bat but the only thing you would here is "he's not producing" or " Where's Brandon?".
Here's a hint he was blocking, that's what happens in a run based offense, it happens more often when your the #2 receiver and the 3rd option ( Moss is #1 but the HB is the second option...

No I'm not happy with his production but I'm not ready to give up on him at this point but those that are should have a legitimate reason to do so.
Why back a whole year ago when "the Danny" spent all that money on Carter, AA, ARE and the guy everyone wants to blame for not doing enough and costing the Skins the game

Anyway back then I told everyone that the way the contracts were written the Skin would e able to flat out cut at least two of the four and not really suffer after June. Nothing changed.
Maybe we don't see it but someone sees something, I'm not apart of the NFL so I'll give it some more time, Remember I said Walt Harris wasn't a bust
I've posted enough pic and gave my opinion on Lloyd, I'm moving on.

I add my thanks. Posting that piece of film was a community service. That's what I saw on TV confirmed. I don't know what I think about Brandon Lloyd but his effort on that play was fine. He has nothing to be ashamed of. On the other hand, there are those who spoke too hastily.

No way Santana could have caught or knocked down that ball. Too short, without Lloyd's jumping ability. You position is especially untenable, considering Santana dropped two big one during the game.

Santana was given a pass based on time served.

CanesSkins26 wrote:Did anyone else notice that after the play Thrash started seeing more opportunities at wr and Lloyd spent more time on the sidelines? Maybe it's not just the fans that think that Lloyd didn't give his full effort on that play.
That's already been pointed out since Sunday, and the WR signing this week also hints at how the coaches feel. None of the people here that support Lloyd are saying that it's just the fans making stuff up only. Clearly, this wouldn't be much of a topic of conversation if that was true.
