If Brunell goes down and Campbell looks as mediocre as he looked at Auburn, it's good bye myth. He's already blown a season and a playoff on misplaced faith in an injured QB. Three in a row and he'll really look bad. Here's my prediction: we'll wind up with the worse starting QB in the NFL: that old guy Saunders brought over.
Hey... I hear the Jets are desperate for some new fans... Heck even YOU may qualify. They don't require that you know anything about football.
It's pathetic you have to resort to bashing Jets fans because we gave you next to nothing for Ramsey.
The Atlanta deal is a joke. It's not going to happen. This isn't the same old jets front office. There is a new sherrif in town .
Thanks for Ramsey . Anytime you can grab a young former 1st rd pick who never got a fair shake for a bag of footballs...you jump on it. The skins should have taken the deal last week before you signed Todd Collins. IMHO...that gave us the leverage. Sure ...he would probably have been cut anyway...but we would have got into a bidding war with many other teams for him. Ramsey for a 6th rd pick is highway robbery.
Sorry if I am wrong on this I don't watch a lot of Auburn football, but didn't that mediocre qb go 13-0 and look awesome doing it, yeah I am sure Gibbs said, lets pick up that mediocre qb that went 13-0 from auburn for no reason, think before you post people.

Could he have done it without one or both of those players, I don't know but I think it's a little too early to proclaim that he is more talented than Ramsey.
SkinzCanes wrote:If your saying Campbell needs a good or top 5 back to win a championship then I'd think Portis is his best friend
Well actually he had 2 top 5 backs at Auburn at the same time.
SkinsFanInHawai'i wrote:PT why do you hate on Campbell so much?
I don't expect you to say he is a sure HOFer, but why are you writing him off as a bust?
A good running game (QB/RB plus OL) is the best friend of a good passing game (QB/WR plus OL).1niksder wrote:SkinzCanes wrote:I'm not saying that Campbell isn't good but his was mediocre his first 3 years at Auburn and his senior year he had Cadillac and Ronnie Brown in the backfield (both top 5 picks in the 1st roudn) so teams were keying on stopping the run and as a result Campbell had plenty of time and lots of open receivers to throw too. A good QB has never succeeded in one-dimenesional teams.

Since when does speed matter at the QB spot? Thsi isn't Madden.I watched linemen run WITH him in sprints at practices... that's bloody slow for any QB! Sure Spurrier hurt things by throwing Ramsey to the wolves... but it isn't like he looked comfortable at camp or in preseason last year either. And if his confidence was shot by Spurrier... he didn't show any sign that he had regained it by the start of last season.
A 6th round pick isn't very much to get for him but as some of the astute posters have already pointed out... this wasn't AT ALL about getting rid of Patrick for a 6th, it was about freeing up $1.7M in cap space to get someone else.
When was he suppose to develope anything on the bench or running with the back up scrubs at practice? Coldn't establish himself as a starter? Of course not...you gave Brunell 32M and then spent another first rd pick on a QB. That determined who was going to start. Let's not forget Ramsey wanted to be traded when you signed brunell. You pretended it was something his agent made up but in reality he wanted out and has been in the doghouse since. Here's a little tough love... as much as I love the guy... if Ramsey couldn't establish himself as a starter in Washington under the conditions he's had... maybe he's just not going to. Great arm... great attitude, good leader.... but feet like mush... now if he had DEVELOPED any pocket presence in the last few years... he might not be in this situation. But he hasn't
Right on the money. I posted a similar message in another thread at the same time:fredp45 wrote:The Jets??? You must be kidding?

The day you do get a productive player from us, you may have some credit behind your posts. See the Moss/Coles threads in the past. Now that you are a newly converted fan of Patrick Ramsey, your past criticisms of him and the Skins play under him in this board sound like nothing else than sour grapes, as usual.
Do not tempt a few people to dig up some of your posts about him and the Skins under him. Not that we are going to have a greater appreciation of your posts one way or the other though.
He can take care of himself alright.SirSmizzy wrote:BH is a big boy...let him stick up for himself....because you aren't helping him out, trust me.
You always seem to be green with envy. (No Jets pun intended). My goodness, with all the poential in the world to be a BIG MONEY MARKER and HIGH REVENUE generating franchise, you guys are nothing but a mediocre and poor team in a town that is too big for you. If it had not been for an early and lonely success with Joe Namath, the Jets franchise would have disappeared from the face of the earth loooong time ago.
SirSmizzy wrote:Another poor attempt by BossHogg to discredit me. Should I go dig up your old posts that said Coles,Hall,& Chad Morton were gonna put you over the top and how you "stole" them from us by overpaying them? how they were great signings? Spare me.You love to nit pick my posts. I like how you took that one sentence out of context to fit your adgenda. I said it was a good job bringing in a vet QB to show him the ropes.
..but lets face it...you overpaid him just like the skins do to EVERY FREE AGENT. You name 1 free agent or coach you brought in during the Snyder era that you didn't have to grossly over pay to get him a skins uniform?
I did say the skins loaded up on some young talent. Whats your point? Oh thats right you don't have one....you just wanted to tell me the Jets won't make an effort, right?
Ramsey got a fair shake?? When? When spurrier brought in His junk QB's? when Gibbs brought in Brunnell after 3 days on the job? The first half of the Giants game?
SirSmizzy wrote:Since when does speed matter at the QB spot? Thsi isn't Madden.
Everyone knew Ramsey had to go for the cap space (I pointed that out to you a while back) You almost get what you ask for considering you got Ramsay and the contract added to your cap and we will take a cap hit of $1.25 this year for Collins (If you don't get it I'll sum it up We replaced Ramsey, got a 6 round draft pick and save half a million on the cap).SirSmizzy wrote:Whatever will help you sleep better at night. Are you defending Ramsey, your new found support of Ramsey, or just trying to bash the Skins. Boss only said that the Jets won't spend money. The don't spend money in March, Old regime, New regime doesn't matter it's the J E T S. Your QBs all most got killed last year (all of them) and you start rebuilding the O-line by releasing Kevin Mawae and Jason Fabini but who have you brought in to replace them... Oh YeahPatrick Ramsey the QB on the market that has proven he can take a licking. Guess that offense is all set now. Get rid of JA and the D will be done for the offseason right?

Why would anyone be upset about that.
