The Washington Redskins were close to agreeing to terms with running back Rock Cartwright yesterday, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, preventing him from becoming an unrestricted free agent. Cartwright is popular among players and coaches for his attitude and work ethic, and he is a key contributor on special teams.

Not really. Betts played well and was consistent as a #2 back. He never did anything that pushed him past the pack or screw up anything up bad enough to make us want to get rid of him. He also played well when Portis was hurt. He was mostly invisable to casual fans and that's what you want our of a #2.

Yeh i agree. I was hoping we'd look for a big back that could plow over people. If we do look for one, i heard Alstott is a FA. But back to topic, im glad we're keeping our "CORE" guys together.

Nothing's more exciting than a life of a Redskin fan. haha yuuup.

Actually, Portis ended the year second in the league in runs of 5-9 yds. A lot of those were on 1st and 2nd down. I think the primary problem was playcalling. We would get into 3rd and longs when we didn't mix it up. I think we will be better at that this year.
