Sources close to the situation said Johnson and the Cowboys have agreed to terms on a restructured deal that is incentive laden. It would pay Johnson about $25 million over five-years. The only remaining glitch appears to be the Buccaneers slow negotiations with WR Joey Galloway, whowould be sent from the Cowboys to the Buccaneers for Johnson. The Buccaneers have been open to receiving a draft choice from the Cowboys for Johnson, but since they only have five picks in the draft that maybe unlikely.

Brooks will essentially earn the same $5.5 million he was scheduled to make this year, but it will be distributed differently. The Buccaneers reduced his base salary to $1 million and
guaranteed the difference ($4.5 million) in a signing bonus. Thus, his cap charge for 2005 and 2006 go up by about $700,000 each season. $750,000 was also added to his base salary for 2006. The team will likely be forced to restructure his contract again next spring, as he'll have a cap hit of $9.657 million. His base salaries are $10 million (2007), $11 million (2008) and $12 million (2009).
