Lemar seems like a good team player who we don't have to re-sign for mega-millions. Good decision to let Pierce hit the market.
I take AP. This would have been his second year in the GW Defense. He owned this D last year. Imagine what he could have done this year. Remember it was AP's first year in a move from will to mike LB. He was just awesome.
I also think Lemar has done a great job with his chance this year hopefully he can continue to develop into a very good player, if not he'll be fighting off McCune very soon.

Right now, I think Pierce is the better linebacker. But then he did come out with the usual "I want to be a Redskin, I will be a Redskin next year, it would have to be a break the bank kind of offer for me to leave next year, the ball is in the Redskins' court, the Redskins don't want to pay me, the Redskins are lowballing me, Dan Snyder didn't want to keep me, those guys didn't respect me, I'm really excited about being a Giant" garbage.
I'm sick of hearing this crap from free agents year after year, and I include the ones who sign for the Redskins.
So, to answer the question, Pierce is a better linebacker at the moment, but I'd rather have Lemar right now, because I think he has more potential, and because he hasn't yet pee'd me off with the "I want my money" trash that they all come out with sooner or later. Boy, do I sound bitter?

Amen. Idon't like AP anymore cause he wouldn't take less money to stay, but I would probably follow the money as well. That doesn't diminish his ability.

Antonio fights through his blocks better than Marshall. He is a much better MLB right now. Marshall will improve mentaly in due time.
INMO I think that Marshall should hit the weights this offseason. He is around 230 and that's too light for a Mike.

I voted for Marshall not because I think he's a better player than Pierce but because I'd rather have him, everything considered. I think the Giants overpaid for a good (not dominant) MLB. MLB is a position that I think you can save some money on.
I think the Redskins liked and wanted to keep Pierce (& Smoot) but they decided that they weren't worth the cap hit. Our cap was already busting through with the $9 mil Coles trade.
Marshall is a good player for our defense and he's very affordable.

ummmm, is there still a controversy about this...
We are losing 20-17, playoffs are on the line. Eagles are driving, and this so-called " replacement" comes up witht the cluth interception which leads to a touchdown. This guy two weeks in a row has made an interception which helps win the game. I think he leads our team in int's also, as a MLB. This just further proves that we made a smart move when letting go pierce. CLL makes some good points though, im not going to lie

Well I did say I felt Lemar was better in coverage than AP. I still feel that AP is the better LB at this point. I think with maturity, and some dominant linemen to keep bodies off of him Lemars game could escalate even further. I know it will.
