If I remember correctly, I think it was around $55 million over 8 years with an $18 million signing bonus. I could be wrong, though.

The contract the redskins offered him was backloaded to be more cap friendly. Champ wanted it up front. That would have hampered us in free agency. Good bye Champ, hello Clinton Portis.

I think they offered that first, then before they put him on the block, they lowered the yar by one.

I realize this is ex post facto, but Denver better have a decent pass rush, cause we had a Sh*tty line that required DBs to cover longer than 7 seconds, Champ could not contain the opponents best receivers for this time.
He gave up way to many deep bombs...
