They didnt pay Brunell back up money....gibbs wants brunell its obvious...Ramsey will want out ASAP.

If we have to lose him, we have to lose him. You can't have a guy on your team that doesn't want to be a guy on your team, can you ? (Could I possibly be more repetitive ? I sound like the goose from "Charlotte's Web !)
If Patches leaves, I hope we're left with something to show for the time we spent watching, waiting and hoping that he'd be the One. OUR Pennington. We're still waiting...

Why do you guys even bother?

You all know that Ramsey said nothing, you all know that agents are leaches, you all know that agents will obviously speak out for their representative (after all, he's trying to get his client more money), you all know that Gibbs is not the type of guy to even say something unless he means it (it will be an open competition) and you all know Smizzy is a Jets fan who doesn't know anything about the Redskins except for the sound bytes that he chooses to believe... so I ask again... why do you bother dignifying the comments with continued discussion?

Look at it logically... who cares what Patrick's agent wants????... we're under NO obligation to trade Ramsey, and if the kid really thinks a few games of toughness should guarantee him a lifetime starting position without competition, then he's not the tough competitor that I thought he was.

They have a word for players who think they're too good to earn a position... prima donna.

I've never known Patrick to be one, and I've never known an agent not to be one. If Patrick is saying these things, then the classy, team player we all know has disappeared anyway.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

Why even bother?

"you all know ramsey said nothing"...How on earth would you know that?

and "im a jets fan who knows nothing"?

Your right boss, your always right....Newsflash ...not everybody bleeds burgandy and gold...most bleed money green...so to you i say money talks and bull**** walks ..Not evrey player who decided he wants to leave the skins has lost something,or has become less of a player..

Is this branch dividian?

Please tell me why he would even consider putting himself into a situation that could hurt him financially ?

Hey patrick we know we messed up with spurrier but now we brought in a QB who you are 5x's better than to challenge you for your job...i know your contract isn't guaranteed money but hey ...your staying

I don't think it's less believable because you're a Jets fan. It's just stupid that everyone ASSUMES (whether you're a Skins fan, Jets fan, or any other type of fan) that Ramsey wants out. I am not going to take Sexton's word for it until I hear it from Ramsey's mouth.

Okay, here I go again.
Smizzy, it's good to have you here. It makes me think, because you're throwing things at me that I get from every other Giants/Jets fan here in New York. For that, I appreciate your writings here on these boards. I think you like to rattle cages a little bit, or maybe it's my uncertainty coming out about this whole business with Brunell. Still, I trust Coach Gibbs until the day and time comes when he gives me a reason not to trust him. That day, my man, is far, far away. I like that you let me break your balls a little, now and then. You're also pretty nice to my kid when he logs on, so that goes a long way with me.
Stick around, talk football. It's always good to have the yin/yang. I don't think Boss Hog caught on the last thread when you tried to make your peace with him. He'll see it eventually, and get over it. You will, too.
Maybe you're right about everything you say, but all we can do until something is set in stone is engage in mindless banter about speculations and possibilities.
That's fine by me. I can do "mindless" with the best of them !

Im only defending myself...i didn't put it out becasue i wnated to rattle your cage...i can do that much easier with other things than this...Its a news worthy story....and its redskin related and it has some merit to it...its not PR grade school buddie talking out, this is the man who hired by PR to make him money not lose it for him..what does his aganet have to gain from saying this?...Ramsey is under contract...why speak out and make his client look like a greedy prima donna for no reason...Thats just my view...but not everbody see's it your way...This could all be a misunderstanding...

All of this Ramsey talk is driving me mad. I am sick of hearing about his agent wispering in his ear about being the starter, or leaving. If Ramsey only believed in Gibbs, like we all do, this wouldn't even be an issue. It really is a shame, people say oh, ramsey is too young and doesn't know about the history of Gibbs, BS! If Ramsey was any kind of football fan, he would know all about Gibbs, and since he doesn't, all he has to do is see the THREE super bowl trophies Gibbs, and only Gibbs has won for us.

Hello, Cj7...'90 Yj daily driver here.

I think Patches does indeed have that little devil on his shoulder, whispering in his ear. He's probably scared, a little bit. Time will tell if he responds to a challenge, or folds like a cheap suit. He trusted in Spurrier. Spurrier left town without telling Patches he was going. He IS a young man, and the trust that develops between Spurrier and his qb's borders on marriage, likely without the boinking.
Still, he was left hanging, holding the bag, twisting in the wind (insert your witty "abandonment analogy" here) and suddenly, the new coach goes out and get himself a mega-million dollar quarterback who has come out in the media and said, "I won't go somewhere with a quarterback controversy. I'm a starter." The little devil, Sexton, is whispering to Patches, "Did you hear that ? He's a starter ! Gibbs must've told him he was a shoo-in. I can get you a deal with Miami five times better than what Brunell got. Look at you ! You're an Adonis ! You're the next Marino ! You are ALL that, and a bag of chips ! Watch me work, kid, and keep your mouth shut."
Something tells me that Joe might have spent more time wooing Brunell than he has placating Patches. Maybe Joe is prepping him to become a man, a leader, a Pro-Bowl caliber QB. I don't know, and I don't think anybody but Joe does. Joe works in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform...

I for one am through talking Bailey/Brunell/Ramsey until Mar 3/4....

People won't listen to logic. Ramsey has stated his position quite publicly. Gibbs has too. Neither is talking about Ramsey leaving and quite frankly I would trust Gibbs over just about anyone I have met on here simply because I have seen his track record over YEARS and heard too many testimonials about his honesty and how he isn't a crook or someone who manipulates people for me to say that he isn't going to offer open competition.

You know who distrusts people the most? The people who are the most untrustworthy. They constantly believe that people are doing to them what they are doing to others. It is a black seed I have seen people consumed with, and Sexton sounds like that.

I for one believe Gibbs. If Sexton and PRam force a trade, that is on them if they are that stupid. I don't think PRam is gonna want a trade, and yes I think Sexton might try this manuever since he isn't getting the money from PRam now that he could be getting with a whole new contract.

I believe an agent as much as I believe Hollywood stars have any business in politics or believe that lawyers are innocent, nice people who don't ambulance chase and block tort reform to keep their incomes up high.

Whatever - I believe in Gibbs.

Like I said - Wormtounge from Lord of the Rings.

Sexton said "it would be fair to say" which tells me PRam didn't say it, but that Sexton is jumping ahead of himself to some degree... otherwise he would have said "Ramsey demands that I talk to Snyder for a trade" which Sexton did most carefully not say.

I think Ramsey might be nervous and they might be testing the Skins to see how seriously the Skins stick by their guns about their public statements. Who can blame them after two years of Spurrier's rash comments followed by no action.

They really don't know Gibbs like most of us old time fans do - listen to his old players. Ramsey will be here and he will get an open honest shot at the position unless Sexton wangles Ramsey into publicly calling for a trade.

1. This is the best SKINS site ever!

2. After March 3rd both Brunell and Patty will be under contract. And I don't think were gonna trade Patty for anything less then a first-round pick if we even trade him at all. There both gonna get the Play Book, and you know both will study there butt's off. Gibbs said it's gonna be an open compitetion, I'm sure if Brunell stinks it up in camp and Patty shines, Gibbs isn't gonna say "Well were paying you the money Mark, here's the ball!" But Brunell won't stink it up. He's just as good as Patty right now, if not better. Besides, it wouldn't hurt Patty to sit behind a Good Veteran QB for a year or 2. It didn't hurt Pennington sitting behind Testaverde. Didn't hurt Brunell, Brooks, or Hasselbeck to sit behind Favre. Let Sexton run his mouth for a little while, it will probably get him nowhere. I'm sure with Patty's character he won't let it become a distraction when training camp hit's, and he'll tell Sexton to shut it.

3. Did i mention, this is the best SKINS site ever?

Why is everyone so loyal to Mark Brunell?
he has never even dawned a Skins jersey...Ramsey bled in one.

I don't understand...this Isn't a bailey situation.

Would you want to play for a team who after you earned your staring spot says...."hey were bringing somebody to challenge you for you job"...Id walk too..

because we need another QB... and Brunell is much better than most out there due to experience and success.. who would we want? Dilfer, Blake... they stink - Volek? Henson? You wanna talk cap stupidity to go after them?

Nah - I think they did the right thing... hopefully time will prove me right and you wrong... but it wouldn't be the first time it would be vice versa Smiz :)

Brunell is by far the best QB available....but he isn't the same QB...he plays timid and he is scared to get hit....I think the skins will do everything they can to keep ramsey becasue Brunell is a injury risk...but will they hold him hostage if he wants out?? Maybe.Mabye not.
