I just hope they take a WR with 25 and not a QB.

Questions:
1.What is the difference between Heath Miller and Chris Cooley?
2. Is it likely that we can work out a trade with Detroit for one of their 3 excellent WRs?

I'm hoping we pick either WR - Clayton or White at 25. Then trade Moss for a 2nd rounder and Gardner for a late 3rd rounder...

With the 2nd round pick -- Alex Smith - TE
With the 3rd round pick -- DE prospect
With the 4th round pick -- MLB or big back for short yardage.

Everybody okay with that?

Houston trades to New Orleans. (Saints give up a #3 in 2006 to move up three slots)

Saints take Jamaal Brown (Oklahoma)

I highly doubt we have any plans to trade Moss.

We are NOT going to trade Moss and I seriously doubt that we're going to get a third rounder for 50/50.

The answer to this question is the ONLY reason why I am still around following the draft. I am wishing for the best but...

No. Tremendous lack of return. #1 for Coles / Coles for Moss / Moss for a #2? Math ain't workin' for me in that one.

skinzcanes -- if we get Clayton or White, why not trade Moss? We could rid ourselves of one Hurricane egomanic who wants tons of money and isn't worth it...

We could use other stuff more than WR, at that point.

Gardner either brings a late 3rd or we keep him...maybe we trade him later when a teams needs a WR...I'd be surprised if the Chargers wouldn't want him. They have no WRs and Marty liked Rod coming out of college.

redskinsfreak -- the point is -- we should NEVER have signed coles for a 1st and we should have cut him, not traded him for moss, but 3 wrongs don't make a right.....trade moss NOW for a 2nd and get something that will help us and not cost tons of cash.

Don't think we need a GM at all. Gibbs has done great in everything he's done since he got here except for Brunell.

Our pick won't likely be top 20 next year, it will likely have been 21-32. We probably traded out of next year because this draft is projected to be deeper for solid players, and we don't have that many holes now. By filling one of those holes this season instead of next we increase our chances of making the playoffs this year and going far in the playoffs the season after that.

What DEs will be available at 25, because ours are below average.

The Redskins traded for this pick because they feel they need the addition of a number one pick this year more than they will need one next year. I don't see why it comes down to anything more than that.

There are still some great players left on the board... and lots of defensive players of note... LB Derrick Johnson, Odell Thurman, Barret Ruud, DL David Pollack, Marcus Spears, Dan Cody, erasmus james, Travis Johnson...

On offense there's White, Clayton, Miller, Reggie Brown, Matt Jones...

Any of these guys would be an improvement to this team and would likely start. The trade facillitated adding TWO STARTERS in 2005... and will likely accomplish just that.

Giving up the fourth was likely the only 'over payment' but perhaps they anticipate getting a compensatory pick for the loss of Smoot and Pierce.

My 2 cents

That could change with just a couple of picks.

Pollack and Cody project as linebackers in a 3-4 not every down de's. James is injury prone.

GF chimes in. He waits for the draft to start, get 18 holes in, washes the car, then pops in to see what the holdup is in getting to a pick in the 30's.

That was a pretty big mistake that cost us a valuable draft pick, lots of money, and playing time for our young qb who needed to be on the field. I would also consider trading one disgrunteld receiver for another, and in the prcess take a huge cap hit a pretty big mistake as well.

I thought for sure Reid would have traded up by now to get a lineman.

There were a quite a few rumours about us trading Rod Gardner for a lower pick during the draft. Any chances better than 50/50 that we will NOT get any offer?
