NFL Network-Playbook NFC East Draft show

Post by SkinsHead56 »

The guys on Playbook were saying that the Skins are just a step away from the playoffs. Ramsey is the key, if he can pull a Drew Brees.....watchout. They predicted the Skins will want to draft offense but will in a way be forced to draft for D buy the fact that A.Jones, or another top flight corner will be available at #9. I agree with that, if the right WR is there get him, if not go CB.

sounds good. i think thats what will happen too. we need a good wideout now, but like last year, if the best player on the board is on defense, you still draft him.

yes, sean taylor definitley helped this team more than Kellen would have, besides we picked up a great talent that fits into the history and tradition of the redskins....unselfish...willing to do whatever it takes.

I strongly believe you take the best player available.

I saw this on playbook too. The question was, out of the three 6-10 teams in the NFC East , (Redskins, Giants, Cowpukes) , which team do you see making the wild card next season. They all chose the Skins. They said the Redskins Defense is up there, Ramsey just has to step it up.

I slightly disagree that this offenses troubles lay not entirely on Ramsey. I don't care how well Ramsey does we need a running game. He played alright last year towards the end, but I think if our running game was a given instead of a probable we would have been incredible.

Portis is ready willing and able!

Now, Chris, you're a smart fella. You know that the running game only gets better with a credible passing threat. It spreads the defense, prevents them from loading the box, opening up options, especially for an elusive runner like Portis.

If Ramsey demonstrates an ability to pick apart a defensive backfield, Portis is the immediate winner.

I think Playbook got it dead-on right.

The only problem with our running game is goal line situations.

Otherwise, I believe our offense had issues with the gameclock managment (an adjustment for Gibbs' motion in his plays), passing accuracy - a Brunell issue, and route running.

Hopefully the speedy receivers will get open better this year. Even the threat will open up holes for Portis, especially with Jansen back...

QB's can only do but so much. The get both too much credit and to much criticism, but hey, they are paid for it!

The question is, Does the running game open up the passing lanes or does the passing game open up the running lanes? You have got to have a good mix of both to be successful. What helps both? It is a good offensive line and given time Ramsey will look much better and so will Portis.

Of course, this show said pretty much the same thing about every team.

I hate to bag on my boy P-Ram, but the guy was just horrible last year, as a video clip from NFL Playbook showed. It showed Ramsey making the wrong read and throwing the ball to his outlet receiver, who had no chance at the 1st down... then we punted (this took place a lot of the time while Patrick was at QB).

If I'm a D coordinator, I game plan for P-Ram to beat me again and again, and by design stack box w/eight men to stop Portis. So I agree w/NFL network, it's wholly up to P-Ram to step it up this year and become a constant threat to keep the D honest.

A lot of you guys are saying we should take the best player availiable. I agree with this, and know Gibbs believes in it too. My questions is, since many people believe D. Johnson (LB Tx.) is the most talented player in the draft, should we take him if he falls to us? I would only consider it if the top WRs are gone, but idk... what do ya'll think?
