If Brown signs....this is our Defense...

Post by spudstr04 »

RE- Brown/ Daniels/ Warner
DT- Salavea/ Noble
DT- Griffin/ Boschetti
LE- Wynn/ Daniels/ Evans
WLB- Arrington/ Clemons/ Campbell
MLB- Marshall/ Barrow/ Smith
SLB- Washington/ Clemons/ Campbell
CB- Springs/ Wilds/ Lott/ Jimoh
CB- Harris/ Wilds/ Lott/ Jimoh
SS- Bowen/ Clark/ Lott
FS- Taylor/ Lott

Still have the possible addition of a CB in round one depending on the way the picks fall from 1-8. If we draft a guy he may compete with Harris as a starter, but it's very possible he'd play the nickel and work his way in.

Awesome lineup and I agree with your assessment about our CB situation.

Yeah, I love what our D looks like, as long as we get some fresher legs in the secondary we'll be ok!

Don't forget that Prioleau is about to sign with the skins. Where would he fall in? I think he would be ahead of Lott and Clark on the depth chart.

We have 2 DBs that we did not offer contracts; Dennis and Franz (who just signed with the Packers). So those 2 positions (really ST positions) are what Giibs and Co are filling.

I don't think that he would be ahead of Clark, Clark played excellent last year, when we lost bowen and lott....i even checked prioleau's stats, he's not that great...

I think either Lott or Prioleau will be a nickel or dime player kind of like what the Patriots do in dime situations. They like to play three safetys, gives them more options on the blitz. I think the speed Prioleau brings will be interesting GW's defense.
Still Loyal. Go Skins!

Man, I really hope Brown signs and becomes a monster for the skins. It would be great to nab somebody else's former first round draft pick at a steal and see him flourish.

It is not even definite that Bowen will be ahead of Clark...he had a very serious injury...and Clark played extremely well.

At Virginia we had an All American safety, Anthony Poindexter, who had the same injury and he was never the same...he's a coach at UVA now.

Between a (healthy) Daniels and Wynn, I'd take Daniels to start. Other than that, I like the lineup, though the linebacker position doesn't seem as solid to me as what we had last year. If Barrow's healthy, I'd also like to see him slated as the starter (but if Marshal can prove that he can play there, the more power to him).

With the way our Defense is panning out through FA signings. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take a CB in the first or second round and then use all of the remaining picks soley for offensive players.

How can our LB be less solid this year. Arrington is back! Are you saying a Pierce/Marshall combination that we had last year is better than a Arrington/Marshall (Barrow) combination??????

This defense looks menancing....

Why does this organization do this to us every year? I mean... We promise ourselves not to get excited because its the same stuff over and over, but they just do the right things to get us drooling every year.

Yes they certainly know how to push our buttons and make us drool =P~ However I'm putting a stop to it, I'm going to join DA "droolers Anonymous " :-#

This year the organization (defensive coaching staff) hasn't changed for the first time in half a decade.
It might be ok to drool

If they have that group on draft day IMO they will go with a WR or Miller if the receiver(s) are not there!

That is a very good start for GW and they can add some younger guys later.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I don't mind saying it here...with most of the same names you see here, we were projected to be one of the bottom-feeding defenses last year for the lack of a stud pass-rush DE.
We're really only "minus" Smoot. Pierce was never slated to be a starter.
It's looking about par for the course, comparatively.

Just having Williams for another year provides much needed stability to our D. Furthermore, we should be able to top 50 sacks this year if Brown comes aboard.
