they could but they only have 2.7 mill of cap room, and now we have around 2 mill in cap room. I think what they put down we can put up every penny they do if we realy want Smoot back.

If the Chiefs were going to throw a lot of money anywhere, it would have been earlier and probably towards Rolle or Law. But the possibility is definitely still there.

why isn't smoot gone already?????

he isn't top notch.. a banged up ty law is better than him... law will go to kc... surtain will end up somewhere and smoot will end up with us...

we will have some extra money b/c we will cut chad morton and some other dead weight guys....

i think we may end up with alot more for gardner than we think... Minnesota is going to overpay for him... not in money but with draft picks... they don't know how to manage a draft... they missed their pick two years in a row.... Mike Tice is a moron....

There is value to staying in DC beyond football. His agent is too stupid to realize it though. Smoot could pick up an extra six-figures for 20 years by hangning around DC. He's got game and should be prepared to kindly accept $10,000,000.00 in his bank account tomorrow. Will his greed outweigh his common sense? I honestly don't think so - c'mon Smooty, sign the deal and let's win a Super Bowl!

Ayo...I may be a bit drunk (its my bday) but I am over here laughing so hard at the "Mike Tice is a Moron" comment...and the image of that dorky ass pencil he has behind his ear.

Ill holla...off to get twisted more ...and hopefully bump into some strange

Nice way to drag people into your thread with that topic title, too.

Don't worry. We recycled Springs and Harris and we will find an able replacement for Smoot when he bolts for the bling-bling somewhere else.

.... and good riddance.

I'd take Ty Law and a two year contract.

Back off boys...we've got a live one here. Skinslover...you're wound tighter than a top. He just gave you an honest opinion and wasn't crapping your thread, dude. Time to take some manners or anger management classes --I'm not sure which.

first... please be respectful, and refrain from telling other members to shut up, especially after you asked for everyones opinion :| ... and others, there's no need to lynch the guy or atleast do it in smack...

now to answer your question:

I believe the Ravens signed Rolle with an $11 mil signing bonus... I would think that the Chiefs nor the Redskins didn't offer him that much...and that's why he signed with the Ravens....

I can't see them trying to sign Rolle, which looked like who they wanted first... and then turning around and offering Smoot more money.... but I'm not in the FO of the Chiefs, so who knows how it will really play out... :)

Baxter left the Ravens for a $10.5 million SB and Rolle joined the Ravens for $11 million SB .. 6 year deals both should make less than a million this year. That would put their cap number around $2.75-$3 million. We could clear that for Smoot.

Smoot knows he is atleast a notch below Rolle and he got $11M he might want to take the ten while it's still on the table

I wish Smoot would just take the 10 million we offered him and just chill. He needs to stay here.
Let us all gather around and drink the Cooley-Aid of the Redskins.
