I think if it did happen it would be the worst case scenario for us.
That would mean not only would Smoot have left, but that both of the WR's would be off the board.
I wouldn't cry if we "had" to draft Rolle, but I'd certainly rather have an offense in 2005.

Do people forget we did have the 1st ranked defense in the nfl, and finished 3rd. Our phocus needs to be on improving the offense, but also adding key additions to the defense. It is hard to develop a rookie corner, because as a corner you are most of the time on an island by yourself. Even if we draft Antrell rolle, he will not be our first corner threfore a waste of a draft pick because we can aquire a 2nd corner from free agency so why draft Rolle.

Rolle is gonna be a great player in the NFL. If we do lose Smoot and are unable to sign a good replacement we should definitely take him. I know we need offense but CB is such an important position in our defense and good players at CB are at a premium. Getting a guy of Rolle's size and skill with the #9 pick would be a great move.

Smoot isn't regarded as highly around the NFL. Personally, I'd rather keep Smoot - just for the sake of the team and the fans. But hey, we lived after Champ left town - we'll do just fine without Smoot - maybe even better. Rolle's time with Williams in Tennessee will pay dividends for us if he's a Skin soon.
