Welcome to the board! Interesting name there.

I'd prefer getting a draft pick for Gardner, rather than a free agent. We need to build for the future through the draft. We're gonna sign free agents anyway, why waste the Gardner trade on another. We're short on draft picks.

Maimi does not need to spend any more money on recievers...David Boston was out all season with an injury, so i believe they are fine at that WR spot.

I forgot the Fish have that 'roided garbage on their team. Maybe they will want Gardner after all.

:thump: I'm not sure why this is even being mentioned (except as a joke... a very bad joke). If Gibbs would not go for Moss then forgetaboutit. Boston put the crap in crap. This guy is a terrible, non team player, over sized, underachiving, bad 'tude, 'roided, legal problem having, overpaid garbage bin. :-# ok I'll stop now.

Boston was a success back when he wuz with the Cards...

Then he started doing steroids and that really changed him for the worst. Now he's a slow reciever, with serious water retention problems in his muscles. He is always in legal trouble too...good pickup THEN...not good now.

THEN

G GS No Yards Avg Lg TD 20+ 40+ FD
2000 Arizona Cardinals 16 16 71 1156 16.3 70 7 17 7 48
2001 Arizona Cardinals 16 15 98 1598 16.3 61 8 28 7 72

NOW

2003 San Diego Chargers 14 14 70 880 12.6 46 7 13 2 42

Or at least recently. His numbers decreased in San Diego, and he'll never be as good as he was in 00-01.

How about sign Givens, and ask for a pick for Gardner from the Pats or Oakland.

Boston is a complete physical specimen...until you get to the ankles. His ankles are like a little kid's wrists.
He's also egocentric. Not that this is uncommon, but definitely not something you look for when coupled with the injury issues.
Maybe if his Dad comes with him as part of the deal....
We could have an official in our pocket, just like Dallas does !! :)

It would probably be better if we were able to pick up a draft pick. We sold our draft picks for other players in seasons past and it hasn't panned out that well, so let's try the opposite.

If we could get Surtain for Gardner I would go crazy... Surtain is a pro bowl caliber corner whos still young for Gardner who is good IMO but will not fetch us anything better. I like this deal. As for Boston, dont even say something stupid like that

they were talking on the radio down here (miami) today that surtain for priest holmes... is the most likely scenario..

Miami is 17 million over the cap... If we are going to pluck anyone from their roster it should be Jason Taylor... He would make our D pretty damn nasty... with both of our safeties healthy and lavar back with Jason Taylor... that is almost 85 bears... or 89 eagles....
See right now I'm on lettuce... Pretty soon I'll be on fries... After that.. The grill... And after that... Comes Assistant. Manager.... and That's When the Big Bucks roll in!

I saw this on ESPN.com yesterday and thought about posting this very suggestion.

I like the idea, but Surtain already has said he wants top notch pay. If we can't afford Smoot, then I think it will be hard to get Surtain.

Although it would be great to see.......

If I were Miami, I would go after Larry Johnson. He made a statement this year, and is much younger. Holmes also has some injury issues. My 2 cents

I for one wouldn't mind seeing this trade. Couldn't see it realistically happening.

If I were Miami I would want Johnson too... but you are correct that he made a statement... and that is why they are willing to deal priest...

Surtain is better than smoot... we can pay either one... the question is... is it worth it..???

cover corners aren't worth all of that money... isn't that what we were saying last year when champ left... we can just get by with a second tier guy...
