Until I'm proven wrong (and god knows it won't be the 1st time) I'm going on the belief that Portis will sign a cap friendly, back-loaded deal.

Yes, obviously we don't have the room to give a back a lot of money this year. But next year and the 3rd year Portis will probably be amongst the best ...

If it does nothing else, it certainly ought to serve notice to the rest of the league that the Redskins aren't going to sit tight and accept the same old stuff that's been going on since 1993 (with the exception of the 1999 season, of course).

Don't you see? The same thing goes on every year. We ...

Wysocki wrote:Is he going to be in there on 3rd and goal from the 1?

If he isn't, the Rock and Betts will be. They're big enough to hammer it in. And that's the thing with Portis- he doesn't score from one, he scores from 60, 45, and 20.

Re: If you were negotiating the Portis/Bailey trade

I would do one of the following:

1. Bailey and 2nd round pick for Portis and 3rd round pick

2. Bailey and #5 overall pick for Portis and Denver's 1st round pick #24 overall i think.

Swapping 1 round picks would be good, since the Skins could then move down and get a D Tackle or D End, plus not ...

Yeah Wysocki...I tend to do that.

I would be cool with a Portis for Bailey and the 2nd...BUT, it would be better if it was Portis and a 3rd for Bailey and a 2nd.

Either way, make Portis a Redskin!

I think so too, I think us giving them a 2nd rounder and us not getting anything back is utterly ...

22 Starters

I'm curious.. Who will our 22 starters be come September? This takes some serious foresight and I'll record all Responses and post the scores after our 1st game.

This takes some serious foresight concerning who we will acquire in FA, who we will draft, etc.

Sure, it would be easier to do this ...

Re: Im with Jake on this.

I'm totally with Jake here. Here's the thing. Even if Patrick starts by beating out Brunell, he's still making less coin than the guy riding the bench. It's got to be about the money. Still, the way it used to be, Brunell would show Patrick how to do the J-O-B.
It's that little devil, Sexton ...

Kearse becoming a Redskin depends on Bailey being traded. Otherwise I can't imagine where we'd find the cap room. I'd rather go after Howard, who is balanced, and Ogunleye who is a poor man's Kearse.
I bet Philly is itching to trade Taylor to us, they know once players leave their defense they go ...

Re: Portis our RB???

Anyone here anything about us trading Champ for Portis?

This trade would be genius for denver since they'd simply plug Quentin Griffin in at RB and make him great. Portis is a top 3 RB and will soon be, i think, the best back in the league. This is one player i actually wouldn't mind trading ...

To sum it up from my POV (a Seahawk fan BTW)..if this did indeed go down...

- Horrible trade for the Hawks

- And quite possibly the trade to put the Skins over the top in the NFC

"Horrible?"

If the Hawks gave picks to the 'Skins then it wouldn't be so bad. You could get rid of Springs who ...

I think our linebackers haven't been talked about enough this offseason. I don't know how much truth the rumors ive heard of Trotter or Armstead being cap casualties hold, but anyone else think it could be cause for concern? Just wonderin, I think we could address LB really late in the draft if ...

REDSKINS, BRUNELL, AGREE!

Well I am shocked, The Redskins have agreed with the Jags to trade a 3rd round pick in return for vet QB Mark Brunell.

The figures? SEVEN YEARS 43 MILLION, 8.6 SIGNING BONUS.

THAT AINT BACKUP MONEY!

Looks like Brunell is our QB. I for one am kind of upset, as I think Ramsey is gunna be one ...

Re: If we had 5th & 6th, 2 DL or DL & S

Just for the sake of arguement, if we did trade Bailey to Detroit, and we had the 5th and 6th pick, what would be the better way to go. Getting T Harris and Udeze, or one of those guys and Sean Taylor (S). On one hand I say if Bailey goes we'll need the secondary. But on the other hand, the ...
