Re: 10-Year Club

First message board I ever joined... in February, 2004. If I remember correctly the return of Gibbs was the big news at the time. Thanks for the great site and forum.

I was worried. I think Rex out played John Beck and he deserves to be the starter. Best man won! John needs more time in the system.

Exactly... Rex played better, and deserves to start. This is consistent with the competition at other positions. Play better than the rest, and you're the starter ...

Top Five UFA Targets

1. Santana Moss- well, I cheated... already resigned.

2. Jacoby Jones- seems like he might be available and should be familiar with the offense.

3. Ike Taylor- dependable CB from a proven defense

4. Abrayou Franklin- seems like the best nose tackle available

5. Jamaal Brown- give him ...

99% of the coaches can't pluck a RB out of the air.

But there's one that has proven that he can and that his system is very RB friendly. That HC is here with us. We don't need a HOF RB, we just need one of his random guys to excel within the system.

The offensive line he had in Denver had a lot ...

Another inexplicably dumb move by Shanny. Thomas will do well elsewhere, either as kick returner or WR, maybe both. This franchise seems to run by ego and attitude. We desperately need to replace Galloway and Thomas wasn't even given a shot. Not acceptable.

Look to the players that have been ...

Two fullbacks? Is this just because Sellers is injured right now? Only one fullback will be activated for Sundays, and I would think that Young could make it to the practice squad.

I also think Paulson could be safely stashed on the practice squad.

Only eight offensive lineman seems low. I ...

Pickman -

Don't forget, with ey you get a quasi lineman - ey blocks well, and much much more.

The real (and dare I say it - game changing) potential is having 2 TE sets with 2 TE that are real weapons. Who's the D going to cover? and when they do, that opens up the receivers.

The o-line gave Campbell all day to pass. I invite YOU to smack for further analysis of this post

Gentlemen, is it necessary to go to Smack to discuss how the OL played or whether Campbell had time?

My rule-of-thumb is to count three seconds. One-thousand one, one-thousand two...

Three seconds ...

And some history of injuries, which would follow the trend of the first 3 picks. It looks like Vinny believes that's how to get value. Definitely boom or bust potential, I guess.

Maybe because they run to the beat of their own drum. Or because Al Davis makes some CRAZY picks!

Vollmer was picked by the Patriots in either the 2nd or 3rd round. You may have an eye for sleepers, though, as Belichek picked him up early.

Personally, I think Philly got an incredible steal getting Macho Harris with that pick. Though as a Hokie, I am hugely biased. I really wish he didn't go to another NFC East team.

The Redskins had a bad game. Most of us fans, and probably the players, felt like they should beat this team by a significant margin. But, the Redskins are 4-2, and have already played all of the division road games AND are 2-1 in the division.

Just because the Skins beat the Cowboys in Dallas ...

Thursdays game was my first at Fedex. (Last game was 1991 at RFK vs the Browns) I was in the club section and I was shocked at how many empty seats there were in my section. Then I walked inside to use the restroom and buy a drink and I found everyone!

I, too, was asked several times to sit down ...
