Q: What is the record of our scouting department?
A: Worse than that of the Redskins this season.

I agree that our scouting dept is bad but imo that is secondary to another problem: not having a GM.

The Danny is not a football guy. He's like Matt Millen only with less experience. It is ...

Nor is it really accurate to call him the highest paid safety in league history, as we keep hearing. Don't get me wrong--he's overpaid--but to talk about his contract total is to bring up an irrelevant point. . .in reality, 30 mil. and Archuleta have very little to do wtih each other; he won't see ...

I don't know what to think about the line. They're an enigma. They're capable of total dominance (see: Jags game), or total failure (see: Giants game). They're so damn inconsistent.

But the thing is, there's no one on the line who jumps out at me and says, "this guy needs to be replaced" (except ...

As disappointed as I am with Carlos Rogers this year (esp. when Springs was out), I'm not throwing in the towel yet.

Terrance Newman looked pretty bad in his first two years and now he's one of the better/best cover corners in the NFL.

They need to sit him for the rest of the year.

Yup. Just shut him down. Let him heal up. We have other objectives for the rest of the season besides winning games.

We need to evaluate JC
We need the offense to learn Saunders system.
No need to beat CP up in losing effort after losing effort

The more realism the better, imo. We Skins fans need to temper our expectations on this one. This is the right move. It's not going to save our season.

Assuming JC is our starter going forward, I would seriously love to have Brunell as a back up QB. He's exactly what you want in a back up. A tough vet who can come off the bench and not throw 12 INTs. I hope Mark sticks around.

He's a great guy and I thank him for everything he did, especially ...

Ugh, I really don't think Brunell is the problem.

And I highly doubt we will win this week against Tampa.

He's not the only problem, but lets face it...he's 36....he can't play forever. It's just time.

Precisely. Mark isn't our biggest problem, but he's certainly not helping us win either ...

I'm with you. It's frustrating to watch this team but it isn't all garbage. Worst of all would be to change our coaching staff now--didn't the late 90's / early 00's teach us anything as fans?!?!

Anyone else notice that when we blitz safeties or CBs they never get to the QB? This in turn leaves us badly exposed in downfield coverage.

We can't get pressure when we bring the house on a blitz. It's hard to have a good D when you can't pressure the QB. Gregg managed to do it for two years ...

Brunell was the same old Brunell. He does nothing spectacular and basically all you can say about him is that he doesn't make catastrophic mistakes. Although he was this <> close to making one down around the goal line. It was 3rd and 2, he moved around in the pocket then easily had the open space ...

20 catches for 34 yards.

As far as I'm concerned there were two huge mistakes in the offseason. AA and Saunders!

I think we need to give Saunders time. Gibbs offense wasn't exactly lighting the league on fire last year. Outside of about a 5 game stretch, Brunell & Co were very pedestrian.

I question the logic of ...

The one player on that list that I really wish we had was Matt Schaub. He was done really well subbing for Vick and it's only of matter of time until he's a full-time starter somewhere playing at very high level.

He also said that nobody on the team wanted to lose Ryan Clark and Robert Royal. With regard to Clarck, he said he was a great team leader and always knew where everybody was supposed to be on the field.

call me sacrilegious but I don't think any of those guys outside of Monk, Jacoby and maybe Grimm are HOF'ers.

What has shocked me this year is the poor tackling. We made Travis Henry look like Earl Campbell. In '04 and '05 we didn't have the best talent out there all the time but we were always funadmentally sound. This year it's like we've regressed.

I put part of that on Gregg. When teams don't tackle ...
