I learned today that ticket sales for the Nationals have already reached 1.45 million. This is UNBELIEVABLE AND UNPRECEDENTED!
They have sold 18,000 season tickets for every game of the entire season, with almost no advertising! And no package, 20 game, specials, or individual tickets have even gone up for sale yet. And --get this-- these 1.45 million tickets have sold for a team that technically doesn't even exist yet!
This is Ultimate Senators Redemption. We KNEW we were the best fans in baseball all these years, and now we're proving it!
The Senators were the greatest. Senators fans were, and are, the greatest. Bask in the limelight--you all earned it!
Received from a Washington Senators email list.
I don't think the Nats ever drew 1 million fans in a season. That was a lot for any team before the '70's, for that matter, but RFK will bubble in a way it never has for baseball. Used to be that the Senators would sell out on opening day, but never draw more than about 20 - 25,000 on a good day.
