Why Why Why . . .
. . . on first down on the Eagles 27, down by 3, with 1:54 on the clock and 2 timeouts, do you go for an endzone shot!
I am so pissed off right now I can't stand it. Our clock management is . . . - I told my wife "The one thing we can't have is a turnover, we need to run the clock down, go for a touchdown or have the field goal to force overtime."
That's what we got.
I don't even blame Ramsey - he didn't call that play.

I don't call that a bad play at all. I call that a bad decision on Ramsey that gave the game to Eagles....nothing wrong with trying to win...wonder why Gibbs doesn't let him throw the long ball because he makes bad plays? Hey, he's played decent the last few games, great last one, but it's just another example of poor decisions which he does at the absolutely worst times possible...we've seen it a hundred times on Ramsey...he'll roll you down to the goal and then pop! pick...pop! sack...he looked horrible in the last 3-4 minutes except for that
ey bomb.

The question is: Will Ramsey ever learn?
I don't know. He does the same stupid things every year to screw it up at the end.
. Is he hard headed or something? Why? Doesn't make sense. I hope he'll learn from this game not to pass to an un-open player. I really really really hope he learns from this game.

I equate it to a basketball game - you have 20 seconds and the ball and are down by 1 point. Do you shoot with 19 seconds left or work for the last shot to win the game and not allow time for your opponent to score.
Our "D" was playing great last night and maybe could have stopped them. I was just frustrated because I called the play before it happened, sorta a worst case scenario.
In the light of day I am proud of my team and their effort.

Did you hear anyone tell him that? I mean really, did you hear Gibbs tell that to Ramsey during the timeout or challenge. Because Gibbs was quoted as saying after the game that he told Ramsey to "see what he could make happen."
You don't call that play, with three receivers and a back running deep patters in that situation. End of story...

I call it a very very bad play.
The Skins had a lot of time outs left...so I would have liked to see a Portis run there. That would have taken Philly by surprise and, if we didn't get anything..we just stop the clock with a timeout.
Then...maybe a few quick passes, maybe one in the endzone.
What we get there is (at least) a TIE...maybe a win.
I was really irked with that call.

I disagree that it was a bad call. How many times have we gotten into the red zone (or even the "maroon zone" a la TMQ) and failed to even attempt a shot at the end zone? I think it was the right tactic, but something went wrong. It's easy to blame the QB from what information we have, so I suppose that is fine, though I suspect -- as will almost every NFL play -- there was more at play than just a mistake by Ramsey.

If Ramsey would have thrown the ball away it would have been 2 and 10 and the Defense would have been on their heels. That's when we could run time off the clock picking up a 1st down and moving down the field. We were already in FG range with a healthy J Hall. But going for the win was definatly the right call. It lets the players know that the coach wants to win, will take his shots and not always playit close to the vest.
Ramsey will/has learn from this, which will only help this team so win or lose we are a better team because of one play that also caused us the game.
