Modded/Hacked X-box?

I've had my xbox since right after they came out (I know stupid me for paying all of that!), so of course I've heard of modding and hacking xboxes before. But, this article, which I saw today, got me thinking more about it.

Has anyone here modded or hacked their xbox? Did you do it yourself?

What do you think of it?

I have a couple of buddies that have a mod chip in their system. I thought of buying one, but then decided against it.
My one buddies system isn't even working anymore. I'd rather pay the $50-60(cad) for a game, instead of risking my whole system.

Well, I wouldn't want to mod my xbox to play illegal games. But, I know once you mod it, you can download and play your old Nintendo games and stuff on the xbox. Plus, you can have more control over the PC features of the system, and even back-up and upgrade the harddrive.

But you are right, i wouldn't want to ruine the thing. Even if it would cost half as much to replace as it did to buy back in the day.

I had a friend Mod it for me! I love it!! He is all computer savy and stuff so he did a great job! He put this program called Evolutionary X or something that I use to run my games and copy games. Its a great program and easy to use! I have already copied about 25 games! It takes a very short time to copy games! I also bought a 120 Gig Harddrive to put all the games I copy on! I highly reccomend anyone modding there XBOX, just make sure you know what you are doing! There are tutorials online also make sure you know what version XBOX so you buy a compatiable Mod Chip for it! You save so much money I spent about $350 for XBOX, all my controllers, warranty, Mod Chip and 120 Gig Harddrive! Its well worth it!
