Rules for Pedestrian Access

Post by REDEEMEDSKIN »

I'm going to the game on SUNDAY!!!!!! \:D/

I wanted to know what off-site parking options are available now that pedestrians can walk to the stadium.

Is Landover Mall Parking allowed??? Is there a fee to park there?

I'm meeting up with someone who has a parking pass, and I just wanted to see if I could meet at LM and ride together from there.

Thanks.

Well, just Thursday, LM announced that they were going to charge $15 to park there and walk to FedEx. (No tailgating, either.)

There ARE other shop centers and lots around there -- just that LM is the biggest and the one everybody thinks of first.

I think they might be on the lookout for walker-parkers at the small center with the Circuit City and the car dealership across Landover Road from LM. There's the residential neighborhood between Central Avenue and FedEx that might be do-able.

And then there's the Metro option. You CAN drive to the Landover Metrorail station, park there and pay the $5 for the shuttle.

Or, for even less than the $5, you can park at the Landover subway station and catch the A12 bus (sign will say for Capitol Heights) which leaves the lot at :21 past each hour. It'll get you to the LM Sears in 14 minutes for the basic $1.25 (I think) bus fare.

Hopefully, you can talk your friend into a ride back to your car, because the return A12 bus leaves LM at 7:21 (game won't be over anyhow) and then not again until 8:21, then 9:21.

Because the DC City Council was incapable of accomodating a multi-millionaire (JKC) willing to build a stadium with his own money.

They learned their lesson, which is why MCI Center got built downtown and -- even though they're showing the same signs of ineptitude -- the baseball stadium will as well.
