Leftwhich Question

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Byron Leftwich will miss four to six weeks with torn ligaments in his left knee, ESPN's Chris Mortensen is reporting.

Leftwich, who was injured in Sunday's 20-6 loss to Houston, went to Birmingham, Ala., on Tuesday to seek the opinion of sports orthopedist James Andrews after preliminary examinations on Monday showed possible ligament damage.

The Jaguars said they expected to make an official announcement on Leftwich's condition Tuesday or Wednesday.

The Jaguars (5-3), who have a bye this week, host the Detroit Lions on Nov. 14. With Leftwich unable to play, backup David Garrard is expected to take over.

Leftwich was sent to see Andrews by his agent, Tom Condon, after developing pain late Monday afternoon. Leftwich was hurt just before halftime Sunday against the Texans on a high-low tackle by Texans linebacker Kailee Wong and defensive lineman Gary Walker, a former Jaguar. Leftwich missed two plays before putting himself back in the game -- without input from the coaching staff, according to coach Jack Del Rio -- and finishing the game.

Leftwich has a history of leg injuries dating to his college career at Marshall.

This news is crappy to hear, a great young QB goes down.
Byron is a tough guy, I remember watching him in a bowl in his sr. year playing with a broken leg. His OL would have to carry him down the field, he risked more injury to his leg, and his chances at the NFL, to win for his team.
Now this is a QB...
Pete Kendall is a MAN and a half..

Out 4-6 weeks will be re-eval here in Jacksonville on Monday. Will decide then if he needs to go under the knife then, if so he'll be done for the year......

Leftwich says he doesn't plan on missing any time

Leftwich wants to play through the injury. The kid has heart. I think David Garrard has more skills though.

Brunell did the same thing in 1996....had a torn LCL and Put on a knee brace and never had surgery. He lost a lot of mobility when he did that. Leftwich doesn't have that much mobility to start with

Leftwich is a rock.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must
Feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines.
