A perfect country/world???

Post by wormer »

In theory we are trying to constantly improve our way of live right? Not just as individuals but as a society as a whole.

What would you like to see about our country/world that make it the perfect place to exist?

What would you change? What would you fix?

It's the magic wand test, if you could wave a magic wand a change things, what specifically would you change?

I have my thaughts but wanted others before posting.

Thanks!

I would love it if people respected the feelings and property of other people, and of the community. That would eliminate theft, assault, littering, etc. That's my "quick" answer. I'll give this question more thought and respond later, too.

I think that the principles that Jefferson and other classical liberals stuck to would still apply today. They believed that the three basic rights of every person are life, liberty, and property. Anything else (that doesn't infringed on someone else's rights to life, lib, prop.) is your business. That's also my 'quick' answer, it'd be interesting to see what other people put. . .

John Locke would fall into that mix and where many of Jefferson's beliefs derived. Brilliant... I may have to break out some of my old books!

I'd love to live in a world where evil bastards that kill people for stuff like - being Jewish, being American, being free - don't exist. I'd love to live in a world where young American sons and daughters are not asked to fight for the simple freedom that all of us should enjoy. I'd love to live in a world where every child is loved, safe, secure, clothed, sheltered and fed. I'd love to live in a world where the color of a person's skin doesn't matter.

I would love to live in a world where women had the same thoughts as us males from time to time.

I would love to live in a world where women drop there front and just give in quicker. 8-[ :-k

I would love to live in a world where dumb people didn't get promoted.

I would really love if we lived in a world where the REDSKINS dominated and the league asked us to let someone else win.

I would like to live in a country where health care was a right, as opposed to a privelage. I would like to live in a world where drug companies were in it for the better of society, as opposed to being in it for the profit. I would like to live in a society where health care costs are affordable for all Americans, and the person making $2 million dollars a year gets the same type of health care as the unemployed person. I would like to live in a world where Politics is far removed from the health care industry. Sadly, I won't live long enough to see it.
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

I just want to see a world where homosexuals and heterosexuals can be accepted. And every respects everybody's possessions, much like Justice Hog said. There are a million other things, but my fingers hurt.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and I must
Feed my will to feel my moment drawing way outside the lines.

To steal from Bill Engvall, I'd like to live in a world where stupid people have to wear a sign so you can identify them before dealing with them.

Also, all the other stuff you guys said.

I love Engvall! He added a 'redneck' line for Foxworthy - "if you open a beer during a eulogy, you might be a redneck." That guy's really great!

a perfect world is where the red sox win the world series and-hey! that already happened! woo hoo!

and, speaking of foxworthy, i was never really a fan, but that 'blue collar tv' on comedy central is some funny stuff.

I guess in a perfect world he could just go golfing all day?

I know that's on my list (er, maybe being a rockstar first, then retiring to a life of golf. . .)

Mmmm, I like this a lot more than talking lofty politics.
