I was wondering if anyone here owns an IPOD? If you don't know what it is visit http://www.ipod.com.
For anyone who owns an IPOD or a similiar device can you reply with your opinion on how you feel about your purchase. Was it worth it, a waste of money, did you wish you purchased another model?
I would really like to have an IPOD. It seems very convient to have 20GB worth of music in one location. No need for CDs to get scratched or stolen. Its small, and compact. I know it has its problems but the fact that it can play through my car stereo is a plus too.
For any owner, can you store regular PC files on it also?

it uses standard cd's that you can burn .....for example one of the c.d.'s that i burned for the ATRAC3 i have 16 c.d.'s compressed on to one c.d. i have every c.d. i own burned on to 4 c.d.'s which i use mostly at work (third shift)and keep all the other c.d.'s are in my car.
the ATRAC3 comes c.d. car ready.
one of my co-workers has an mp3 player and he really likes mine ATRAC3 better and they are alot cheaper ....$85.00 VS. $250.00 --$300.00 just another option for you to think about.

Thanks for your help and advice guys.
Skins4eva. I dont think the Atrac is what Im looking for. I understand that you can compile 4 cd's into 1, which is a great! I think that I want to get rid of CD's altogether. I dont feel like burning anything either. Plus with Sony I believe atrac is proprietary (spelling) so I may run into some compatibility issues down the road.
Doro, thanks for letting me know that I can stick files on their else. If anything you can use it as a portable HDD. LOL. I think I may buy one of these. It'll be great to be able to leave my CD's home and in their cases, scratch free.
Do you have any complaints about your IPOD?

I think the original batch of them in the old version had the problems with the batteries, mine goes strong for a long time no problems. I have two complaints but neither are directly releated to the ipod, I got the car adaptor for it, crap can't remember which one, and it sucks, its the one that looks like a mount for it. It doesn't work very well, a buddy of mine has the iTrip and it works a ton better so stay away from the one I have, I got it at best buy, wish I could remember who made it. The other problem is with my computer not recognizing the ipod unless my wireless card is unplugged, but I have the same problem when I try to pull pictures of my digital camera so I think its the gateways fault. Don't buy gateways I'm 0-2 on happiness with them.
But the newer ipods are suppose to have an even better control wheel which lets you turn on and off shuff without having to go into the menus which would be a cool feature. Good luck.

No. The new player from Creative does, and so do some other "PC based" iPod knockoffs.
BTW, I believe it was the first go-round of the iPod Minis that were having problems, and there was a voluntary recall (if you can use as strong a word).
