Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

Fan Loyalty

Post by gregory smith »

I'm curious. A lot of you guys have the privelage of regularly attending Redskin's games. As we are all aware we have struggled mightily in recent years. We start the season full of hope and then watch it slip away. Against the Bucs and Cowboys the place was really loud, what can we expect Sunday against the Ravens, will it be the hostile environment that we so desperately need, or have the fans already started to doubt? There is nothing more demoralizing than a home crowd that has been taken out of a game by the opponent. Will our fans make it tough on Boller, or have they reached a passive stage already? I suppose the answer strictly depends on which Redskin's team shows up.

I can only speak for myself....but I'm gonna be one loud $*%%*$*. "True" fans know this season is far from lost so I expect we'll all show up and yell to the top of our lungs.

Hard to say with FedEx.
I remember when we played NE last year and it seemed like there were just as many Patriots fans as us. I still think the Skins fans will make noise but wouldn't be surprised if there weren't a lot of Baltimore fans.

RFK was allways a nightmare for visiting teams. Even when we sucked. Maybe because of he larger capacity more visiting fans can get in. Ebay also has a lot to do with it. Anybody can buy tickets to almost any game they want on there when once upon a time you couldn't find tickets to an away game anywhere.

This will be the start of fans selling off their tickets...I expects to see more Ravens fans then we saw Bucs fans and maybe less then we saw Dallas fans. However if we lose to the Ravens that's it we'll see a drop off and the next home game is against a team who fans travel the most in the NFL the Packers!

Well I was at the Dallas game and I screamed the entire time. Until the end I was on my feet cheering on my team. Every game I go to I do the same.

In a couple of years when the NFC East plays the AFC West so the Redskins play the Chargers (the closest NFL team in my area and its still 2 hours away) if the Skins play AT San Diego, I am going to be the crazy FAN OF A @#$% and go crazy. but the key word is IF they play in San Diego

Fans will be fans and people dont like to pay big dollar to see their teams lose. You can be as loyal as you want, but money is what drives this machine we call football.

I guess I could be labeled a traitor this week - NO I WILL NOT ROOT FOR THE RAISINS! I hate the with a passion! But I am bringing 7 Raisin fans with me to the game. I have 8 tickets and I will be the only 'Skins fan among them. I'm hoping for a quiet ride home with a subdued grumbling from the back seats boo hooing about their Raisins losing....

That's the way it was for me last week COZ, but you know who the quiet one was. Actually, I wasn't very quiet...I just kept complaining about things that I do want to bring up again. Just the thought is making my stomach turn.

That's the problem when you have 95,000 seats and a 1-3 record. It's a crapshoot. Were were 3-1, you'd see nary a purple jersey around.

Man, I live in Orlando, and in the preseason (alot of the times) the skins play the schmucks or the porpoises. I drive over, and let it all out. Went to the Jags game a few years ago when we took out the beating stick to them. I thought I was the ONLY one in burgundy and gold. My family (traitors!!!!) Lived in D.C., and Carlisle, and THEY were in that faggy teal shisbut, very disheartening. I'm proud to be a skins fan, best franchise in sports if you ask me. I'd rather we were winning, but, I' represent no matter.
I would WISH that those of ya'll lucky enough to attend the games would do so, and make the place rock-n-roll like RFK used to....

I live towards Baltimore and we have a bus leaving at 2:00 for the game with a mix of Skins fans and Ravens. I expect alot of Purple, unfortunately that's what FedEx allows. Although FedEx is bigger the stadium is so big the noise travels up. One of the things that made RFK rock was the small roof around the stadium that kept the noise in.

Each time I've seen the Ravens at home, it's been rockin' and I don't expect any different. I'll be there and I cheer just as loud for a losing Redskins team as a winning one. I always do... I have faith.
